|| PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENTS 2026 ||

The NDSC are ecstatic to announce that Peter Politis has re-signed again for the 2026 season.

As a massive part of our 2025 success, we are looking forward to watching Peter make his mark in 2026.

We are also super excited that along with Peter, we will also be welcoming Stanley Cox to the club for the 2026 season.

Stanley is a key position forward, who can also play down back. His ability to cover the ground, be a strong contested mark, polished off with accurate kicking, will add great depth to our side for the season.

Stanley comes to us from the Nightcliff Football Club in Darwin, and is great mates with Peter.

๐ŸŒŠWESTERN WAVES WIN U15 VIC COUNTRY CUP๐ŸŒŠ

Congratulations to Aurora Merrett, Sophie Mock and Zarah McLean, who recently represented the Western Waves at the Cricket Victoria U15 Country Cup held in Albury.

The Waves had an outstanding carnival, winning 4 of their 5 round matches to secure a place in the Grand Final, where they went on to claim the premiership โ€” making it back-to-back Country Cup titles for the Western Waves.

The Grand Final saw the Waves take on Northern Rivers, the one side they had gone down to earlier in the carnival in Round 2. In a great team performance, the girls turned the tables when it mattered most, defeating Northern Rivers by 26 runs to take the title.

All three girls played important roles throughout the week. In Round 2, Sophie finished with 1/16 off 4 overs and later added 16 runs off 26 balls, while Aurora impressed with the ball taking 2/12 off 4 overs.

Round 3 saw Aurora bowl an outstanding spell of 1/3 off 3 overs, including a maiden, and Zarah made her mark behind the stumps with a sharp stumping.

Sophie continued her consistent form in Round 4, taking 1/10 off 2 overs, holding a catch, and contributing 17 runs off 24 balls. In Round 5, Aurora claimed 1/13 off 4 overs and a run out, with Sophie also involved in a run out as the fielding pressure continued.

In the Grand Final, Sophie opened the batting and made a valuable 22 runs, while Aurora chipped in with a wicket. Zarah did an outstanding job wicket keeping throughout the carnival, playing a vital and consistent role for the team across all matches.

A fantastic achievement by all three girls, who represented themselves, their club, and the Western Waves with pride. Congratulations on a great carnival and a well-deserved premiership๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ†
