Could the New Testament be classified as “hate speech” and antisemitism?
We all know that the Bible clearly states no whoremonger or homosexual has any inheritance in the Kingdom of God.
Insofar as Paul the Apostle goes on to say about some of his own countrymen, that they are “contrary to all men” and “killed the Lord Jesus”, these phrases can be construed as to be “hate speech” and sufficient reason to start forbidding preaching of certain Bible passages.
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
— 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16
It’s clear the Bible makes the appeal to the Jew first, then the Greek, and that salvation was first offered to the Jew first, then the rest of the world. Jesus ministry was to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. They received the Word of God, the law, and the prophets, and of course their full salvation into the Kingdom of God through Jesus Christ is top priority.
But what we are dealing with these days is a glorification of Israel while they have not yet repented, and I am sure the devil has a high price on utilising the promises of God for his agenda. I know this in my own life where the devil seeks to offer a plea bargain, like he did with Jesus “all this will I give you if you fall down and worship me”.
My concern is that while we are waiting for Israel and the Jewish people to see that Jesus is the saviour, there will be a warfare against the Gospel not just by Islamic extremists but also by the hidden hand of manipulators who seek to gain a kingdom of Israel that defies the Lordship of Jesus.
The Gospel and New Testament (not necessarily the whole Bible) is a big problem for that agenda. I have wondered for years who the antichrist is, but if we look for a moment at the reality, there are yes many antichrists, but by definition there is a specific agenda against Jesus being THE CHRIST. The main denouncers of Him being the Christ does fall squarely on the Pharisees and Saducees of long ago. Of course it’s convenient for others to denounce him as Christ as well. The rebellious world doesn’t want The Christ.
But what I am getting at here, and it’s happening quickly it seems, is a control against gatherings, a control on speech, and a seeking to gain control of religion in any regard that speaks against modern secular Israel’s actions, and a interest in policing what we say and think.
The Bible in Paul’s writings say that there is a corruptive agenda and anti-Christ motive there. He himself loved the Jews, was a Pharisee of Pharisees, and “wished himself to be accursed to save his own nation,” if possible. No doubt the words are written in love, but pointing out a truth that he himself experienced.
I don’t “hate” anybody. But what can be construed as “hate” is up to those who have an underlying agenda to brandish everything and everyone that stands in their way as “hate”.
Friends I have been watching this for a while, and it’s taken me a long time to accept that we may have some fatal friends in high places.
Jesus spoke about “kingdom against kingdom” and for years I thought it was about natural kingdoms, and yep they have risen and fallen. But it’s new to look at the kingdom of Israel vs the Kingdom of God through Christ. Is that possible? Yep.
The psalms and proverbs are opening up to me in a new light. The “wicked” and “ungodly” in those chapters can of course refer to anyone who’s against God or doing wicked things. But specifically for those who know the Word and have had the promises and the Prophets and the Saviour, and turned their back and seemed to “climb up some other way” by whatever means to establish another kingdom, a lot of those verses speak directly to that motive.
At the time where the Shawn Bolz saga is unfolding, and the need to return to repentance, and to look out for our own salvation, I believe it’s time to also take stock of the increasing appeals and requirement to help build Israel no matter what.
We as the Church have another agenda to reach out to the world on Christ’s behalf. In His Name shall the Gentiles trust, the scripture says. In my words, Jesus is the king of us Gentiles. Don’t lose focus on Jesus. Don’t trade Jesus for some Old Testament relationship that never included us anyway. We are in Christ by Faith, and of the Seed of Abraham by Faith. This was the point of the Cross as it pertains to us.
My final thought is to encourage you and at the very least point you towards the Lord and your own relationship with Him through Christ. The point of it is - our message is Jesus IS THE CHRIST. There is no other name under heaven given amongst men whereby we can be saved. No other than Jesus. That message is for all humanity no matter where you’ve come from, Jesus is it, no other door, no other way, no other kingdom.
All this other stuff and persecutions for His Name and the Gospel’s sake is part of the package, but be “of good cheer” for “I have overcome the World” Jesus said. Remembering the warning given to us, in the “Synagogues” we will be beaten. All this stuff will help cleanse us from our flesh and self seeking agendas we have inherited along the way. If there’s a price for the Gospel, it’s well worth it. Remember we are playing for keeps.
