“First Nations service is not a welfare hire. It is an enhancement of the functional lethality of the ADF and crucial to the strategic defence of our Nation. The ADF benefits just as much from our people as we do from a career in the ADF”.

“I joined the Army because I wanted to challenge myself physically and mentally. The work that I’ve done, assisting in operations, talking to kids at school on Anzac Day and even around the communities I have been on, has opened my eyes, and my perspective on life has changed. It is rewarding to know that our families and children are safe. Everything I do is for my children. I love doing the things that we do because we all share sweat and tears together. We’re like a big family. At the end of the day, doing the things that we do there’s always laughter in between. It’s like our home away from home because our Army family is our family too.”
