Sasha Sigel is our latest guest on The Flow Artists Podcast!
Sasha is a New York based yoga teacher who focuses on pelvic care, reproductive rights and q***r community building. She is a co founder of Be Q***r Now and, like us, sees social justice and activism as yoga in action. Sasha draws from asana and pranayama practices to help create individualised yoga programs to support people with endometriosis.
She also supports people before, during and after abortion, and we talk about some of the ways that she can both reach people who need her help, and keep herself safe in the current American political climate.
Please be advised we speak about many aspects of reproductive health, abortion and the very real safety concerns that LGBTQI+ people, and people seeking an abortion are facing today.
It’s a powerful and inspiring conversation and we hope you enjoy listening!

Our latest episode is live and we are talking to Claire Holloway, the founder of The Centre of Bright Beginnings - you might remember our conversation with Claire from back in 2023.
We continue to explore many of the themes we touched on in that episode, from the importance of making yoga practice accessible, to activism and a commitment to social justice being an expression of living your yoga, and the realities of life as an independent yoga teacher.
Claire shares about a recent event she co-facilited ‘Mothering during a Genocide’ and we also discuss Claire’s new course - Yoga for Home Birth and some of the politics around the birth, medical trauma and body autonomy.
Please be advised of these themes as you listen, as we cover some sensitive and emotional topics - although navigating these themes is really what this episode is really all about.
It’s a great conversation and Claire has so much wisdom to share, we hope you enjoy listening.

Utkarsh Narang of IgnitedNeurons is our latest guest!
You can listen via spotify, your fav pod app or directly from our website (link in comments).
Utkarsh asks the question, can fear push us to be courageous? He tells us about his journey from running a successful physiotherapy business in India to moving to Australia. He also talks about how he and his family had to conquer the fear of the unknown as he changed careers, becoming a learning consultant, facilitator and content creator. We loved hearing his practical advice, but also how yogic philosophy forms the foundation of his life and work. It's a great conversation and we hope you enjoy listening!

and Sai Jaiden Lillith are our latest guests on The Flow Artists Podcast.
This conversation is a vibrant and candid exploration of s*xuality, gender, consent, and social activism, centered around their project the and ASS Fest.

The tone is playful, irreverent, and deeply intellectual, with many butt jokes and lots of heart. They discuss complex themes including sacred s*xuality, disability, trauma-informed practices, and the challenges of running an educational platform about s*xuality in a world of online censorship and conservative pushback. The discussion ranges widely from personal backgrounds and artistic projects to broader social and political issues, always underpinned by a core philosophy of love, consent, and breaking down barriers between different communities and approaches to s*xuality.

As this description suggests this is an adult conversation not suitable for most workplaces!

We learned so much for our conversation with Beata - and she has an upcoming training if you’d like to continue the learning in person!

Hello friends! Did you catch our episode with .rose of - this episode is one of our favorites and we really respect Beata’s work. It’s episode 99, and you can listen via Spotify, your fav pod app or directly from our website podcast.flowartists.com

If you’d like to learn from Beata in person, she has a training coming up in February!
For more information go to: https://beataheymann.com/bookings/p/25-hour-trauma-informed-training
This training provides a baseline of Trauma-Informed theory and practice from a social-work and yoga teaching background. As well as covering the theoretical component of this work, she shares from over 15years experience working with culturally diverse communities, in mainstream education systems and clinical settings, to provide a well-rounded, practical and embodied approach to Trauma-Informed facilitation, drawing on the practices that have supported high-risk communities experiencing trauma to self-regulate.

Trauma-Informed Yoga aims to make yoga accessible to all. In Trauma-Informed yoga, there are no expectations, therefore, it allows our true nature to unfold, giving us permission to explore ourselves and our relationship to others.

During the training Beata offers a toolkit of Trauma-Informed practices, including mindful movement, somatic tools and breathwork that can support a return to balance and equanimity. This training is suitable for all who are curious to explore Trauma Informed practice and facilitation, yoga teachers, social workers, NDIS support workers, carers, embodiment facilitators, school teachers and mental-health practitioners. You may come to this training to support your own practice and healing, or those you work with. There is no prerequisite training for this course, all are welcome.

Dates: 22nd, 23rd February, 2nd March in Caulfield, Naarm Melbourne

We will also be publishing a new episode later this month, it’s our annual Jo & Rane episode answering all your questions (thanks for the great Qs!), we wanted to wait until I got back from South Korea before recording it 😊
