Jivana Heyman, the founder of Accessible Yoga is our latest guest on The Flow Artists Podcast!
We’re excited to discuss his upcoming in person Accessible Yoga Trainings in Melbourne April 25-27 2026 and Byron Bay May 1-3 2026 (I'll pop those links in the comments).
As Jivana shares in the episode Accessible Yoga training honors and celebrates people of all ages, sizes and abilities - being a great yoga teacher is not about doing ‘perfect’ poses.
We also talk about his triathlon training and yoga philosophy and the surprising connections between them!
Jivana challenges many common assumptions about yoga practice. Including the Western tendency to over-medicalise and rigidly categorise yoga, reminding us that “yoga is not about fixing, it’s about recognition of our true nature, that we are already full and whole and complete and perfect the way we are.”
His perspective on meditation is particularly refreshing - he argues that there’s no hierarchy of “correct” meditation practices and that “if you’re practicing yoga, you’re meditating. They’re really almost one and the same.”

We loved sharing this conversation with Jivana and hope you enjoy listening!

In this extract from our latest episode, Jivana Heyman explains the core spiritual philosophy of yoga as recognising our eternal spirit beyond our changing physical body and mind, emphasising that we are more than just our current experiences.

Anjali Rao is our latest guest on The Flow Artists Podcast!
We're discussing her new book, "Yoga as Embodied Resistance" which uncovers the voices of women and marginalised communities throughout history who used yoga as a tool for liberation and resistance, even when dominant power structures tried to exclude them.
Her work reveals yoga's complex and often untold stories, challenging us to think beyond the simplified narratives we usually hear. Rather than viewing yoga as a static, ancient practice, Anjali shows us how it has always been shaped by social, political, and cultural forces.
It's a wonderful book and a great conversation - we hope you enjoy listening!

Sasha is a New York based yoga teacher who focuses on pelvic care, reproductive rights and q***r community building. She also supports people before, during and after abortion, and we talk about some of the ways that she can both reach people who need her help, and keep herself safe in the current American political climate.

Our latest episode is live and we are talking to Claire Holloway, the founder of The Centre of Bright Beginnings - you might remember our conversation with Claire from back in 2023.
We continue to explore many of the themes we touched on in that episode, from the importance of making yoga practice accessible, to activism and a commitment to social justice being an expression of living your yoga, and the realities of life as an independent yoga teacher.
Claire shares about a recent event she co-facilited ‘Mothering during a Genocide’ and we also discuss Claire’s new course - Yoga for Home Birth and some of the politics around the birth, medical trauma and body autonomy.
Please be advised of these themes as you listen, as we cover some sensitive and emotional topics - although navigating these themes is really what this episode is really all about.
It’s a great conversation and Claire has so much wisdom to share, we hope you enjoy listening.

and Sai Jaiden Lillith are our latest guests on The Flow Artists Podcast.
This conversation is a vibrant and candid exploration of s*xuality, gender, consent, and social activism, centered around their project the and ASS Fest.

The tone is playful, irreverent, and deeply intellectual, with many butt jokes and lots of heart. They discuss complex themes including sacred s*xuality, disability, trauma-informed practices, and the challenges of running an educational platform about s*xuality in a world of online censorship and conservative pushback. The discussion ranges widely from personal backgrounds and artistic projects to broader social and political issues, always underpinned by a core philosophy of love, consent, and breaking down barriers between different communities and approaches to s*xuality.

As this description suggests this is an adult conversation not suitable for most workplaces!
