A Total Fire Ban will be in place tomorrow, Wednesday 26 November, for the following areas:

- Greater Sydney Region
- Illawarra/Shoalhaven
- Greater Hunter
- North Western
- Central Ranges
- Upper Central West Plains
- Lower Central West Plains
- Southern Slopes
- Northern Riverina
- Southern Riverina
- Eastern Riverina

Hot, dry and windy conditions are forecast across most of the state, with widespread areas of Extreme fire danger.

Catastrophic fire danger is also forecast for the Lower Central West Plains. These are the most dangerous conditions for a fire. For your survival, avoid being in bush and grass fire risk areas within this region tomorrow.

Overnight, firefighters have conducted backburns around the edge of the fire and active fire will be visible within internal areas of the fireground.

Today, crews will continue work on controlling the fire and further backburning operations may be undertaken where conditions allow, which may see an increase of fire activity.

Those in the area of Worrowing Heights, Sanctuary Point and Old Erowal Bay should continue to monitor the situation and know what you will do if the fire threatens.

Watch and Act: Larmer Av, Worrowing Heights (Shoalhaven LGA) - Prepare Now - Sanctuary Point, Old Erowal Bay and Erowal Bay.

Firefighters are working to control a bush fire burning in the Worrowing Heights area, north of Sanctuary Point, south of The Wool Rd and to the west and east of Larmer Ave. The fire is burning under gusty variable winds. Those in the area of Sanctuary Point, Old Erowal Bay and Erowal Bay should prepare now.

Former Kiama MP Gareth Ward has been sentenced to 5 years and 9 months in prison for historic s*x abuse.

Earlier this year, a jury found him guilty of 1 count of s*xual assault and 3 counts of indecent assault.

Ward will be eligible for parole in April 2029.
