Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park 🐊

We spent a few hours wandering around Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park and getting up close to some seriously big crocs!
Definitely a cool spot to check out while in Broome.

📍Barn Hill Station

We had high expectations for Barn hill - the beach was nice, the rock formations were pretty, and those sunsets certainly didn't disappoint.

The road in was a long, corrugated one with plenty of speed humps.

We stayed in the overflow section for $50 a night, making it our most expensive station stay so far. Booking is not required for the overflow, you can just turn up.

For us, this wasn't a favourite but that's ok, not every stop needs to be.

📍Pardoo Station

Pardoo Station quickly became one of our favourite stops.

The colours here were incredible, turquoise water against the mangroves, white sand and that unmistakable red landscape. It was one of those places that completely blew us away.

Apparently saltwater crocs inhabit the waters here, so swimming is definitely off the list! We didn’t spot any crocs, but we did see plenty of sharks cruising through the shallows.

Details:
$50 per night
Power and water sites
Small on-site store for essentials
Buffet dinners (book in advance)
Lawn games and bowls
Communal fire pit

Exmouth and the Ningaloo Coast 💙

Our time in Exmouth was filled with some unforgettable experiences. Snorkelling the clear waters of Lakeside and Turquoise Bay, exploring the stunning Yardie Creek, spotting Whale sharks, and watching the sun set over the coast from the lighthouse.

Unfortunately the popular beach camps on the Ningaloo were all still closed after the cyclone earlier in the year, but we had a great stay at Yardie Homestead. It is right on the doorstep to the National Park and the best snorkelling spots!

We hired a boat and soon found out the wind in Exmouth is no joke 😅 but that's ok, we drowned our sorrows in beer and pizza at Whalebone.

Honestly, we didn't instantly fall in love with this part of the West Coast like we expected to, but the longer we stayed, the more we understood how magical this place really is and it ended up being one of our favourite places.
