Meet CeramiXR artist Kirsty Collins

🎨 You have seen this amazing abstract sculpture on our poster, and today you finally get to meet the artist behind this artwork! 🌟 Sydney-based artist Kirsty creates unique pieces of landscape-inspired contemporary ceramic sculpture. After experiencing sudden bilateral deafness and subsequent disability, she pursued a new career in art.

🔥 Kirsty's work features gravity-defying forms that revel in bold colours, inspired by Bernini's terracotta sketches. Her innovative approach to art is a must-see at the exhibition, where her artworks are incorporated into our exciting interactive VR experience - Brilliant Earth!

🎓 Kirsty has a BFA from UNSW COFA and an MFA in electronic and temporal art from USYD SCA. 🙌 Don't miss the chance to see her groundbreaking work and explore this never-before-seen exhibition!

UNSW Student Artist Highlight - Danae-Irene Kyriakaki 🌟💫✨

Danae is the 3D artist and animator of CeramiXR. Danae She has a passion for the creative arts and digital design and she is currently completing her Master's degree in Simulation & Immersive Tech . Danae has volunteered for various events, including Vivid Sydney 2018 and the Synergy Project as part of the student volunteer team of UNSW CREATE Inc. She has also interned at LITE ROOM UNSW Kensington as a 3D modeller and animator for an immersive VR Language experience called "The Happy Puppy." With a focus on motion design and the 3D world, Danae is ready to kick-start her artistic journey in immersive design. Follow her creative journey and be inspired by her collaboration with renowned ceramics artists at CeramiXR!

UNSW O-Week Student Artist Highlight - Beining Liao

Meet Beining, the graphic designer for CeramiXR exhibition. An enthusiastic creative with a passion for both digital and traditional design techniques. After graduating from ANU with a bachelor degree in Visual Communication, she's now studying Master of Simulation and Immersive Tech at UNSW. With experience in advertising, branding, typography, and illustration, Beining is currently the Visual Designer & Photographer at the digital marketing agency Encubator. She's previously worked in emoji design for Chinese tech giant Tencent and social media graphic editing for South Reviews Magazine. Follow Beining's journey as she continues to push the boundaries of design!

UNSW O-Week Highlight - CeramiXR Artist - Kristen Radge

Kristen Radge is one of the 13 featured ceramic artists of the exhibition. A Master of Arts student at , Kristen's ceramic and textile works explore her experience as a post-colonial settler on traditional lands. She uses found clay on-site to create pieces that examine agency and colonial land ownership. Don't miss the chance to experience her unique perspective on country and colonial history through her ceramics installation 𝙀𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙎𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙧𝙪𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙙.
