Tomorrow night on Deep Blues:
On July 30th 2025 Buddy Guy will celebrate his 89th birthday with a release of a new album 'AIN’T DONE WITH THE BLUES'. We defiantly ain't done with Buddy Guy. On 24th July Deep Blues will dedicate the majority of the show to Buddy, his music and all things (even remotely) related to Buddy. We also will mention the 5 years anniversary of the death of Peter Green, the birthday of the late Tony Joe White and new Australian music. While you wait you can take a look at Buddy's latest single: 'HOW BLUES IS THAT?’ FEAT. LEGENDARY EAGLES’ GUITARIST JOE WALSH.

TOMORROW ON THE SYDNEYIST:KILLING JUANITA - https://mailchi.mp/eastsidefm/tonight-on-the-sydneyist-4055275

It is 50 years since Juanita Nielsen disappeared,
possibly due to her efforts to save Victoria Street from redevelopment.
Her body has never been found, nor her killer identified.

Now a new book argues that her advocacy, and her death,
changed Sydney planning, turning it more towards people-friendly human scale development.

Just when you thought you’d seen it all in relation to an indigenous fine art exhibition, along comes the Art Gallery of New South Wales with Yolŋu power: the art of Yirrkala. From the 1940s to the present, works have been drawn from both public and private collections from around the country – about 300 in all makes this a large survey exhibition from one of the country’s first indigenous art centres based in north east Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.

Poor Stella.

She’s been here waiting for someone to call and say how much they love Eastside Radio!

She’s just one of the many volunteers who selflessly give their time, expertise and love towards making our station such a wonderful listening experience.

But if no one calls to become a Supporter during our Annual Radiothon than Stella feels sad. And unloved. And we just can’t allow that to happen.

So please, get on the phone and give us a call on 9331 3000 or sign up online and become a new or renewing Supporter of Eastside Radio.

It’s Thursday which means we’re down to 48 hours to go.

Be like Stanley. Tell Stella you love her.

This..is Gary.

We can’t show his face on radio because radio has no pictures. So here we are instead.

Gary rocked up to present his Jammin’ show today with a new set of specs just so he could see the phone ringing more clearly during his show. No way in the world was Gaz going to miss any calls to become a new or renewing Supporter to Eastside Radio this week.

Alongside Gary there are more than 92 shows each week on Eastside Radio, covering a diverse range of styles like jazz, blues, film reviews, arts podcasts, artist interviews, community news, world music and more!

Your favourite station contributes to the community and provides a listening platform for local music enthusiasts and artists every day.

If you’d like to help us continue to change your world and grow your community then please become a Supporter during our Radiothon.

Call 9331 3000 now, or sign up online at support.eastsidefm.org.

And keep Gary on air rocking his eyewear!!

Here at Eastside Radio, we’re Building the Next Generation of radio broadcasters and digital content creators.

Our volunteer program plus our school work experience and international Intern initiative, has seen more than 50 new people come through our station doors every year.

Over the next 12 months, we plan to double this number so as to keep up with the demand of people wanting to get involved.

That’s where you come in. Because of your support we can continue to upgrade our equipment, invest in new technologies and expand the necessary support provided, so that we can Build The Next Generation.

Become a Supporter now so that the future voices you hear on the media, are the ones you love from Eastside Radio.

Our Story

Eastside Radio is the community station for the City of Sydney and Eastern Suburbs. Having been on air for over 30 years the station is an established cultural icon with a loyal following of listeners.

We love the arts, jazz music, world music, the blues, soul music, Hip Hop, funk and electronic sounds. We are the only station in Sydney to devote 5 mornings a week to supporting theatre, dance, film, design, literature, indigenous, visual and other art forms. Every afternoon we focus on the issues that matter to the community.

We are the heartbeat of our community.

Many of our presenters and producers are working musicians, DJs and artists at the forefront of Sydney’s creative scene. Others come from distinguished careers in politics, advertising, journalism, science and education. While are youthful broadcasters are at the start of creating their own successful journey.
