Ash wants to invest here. Beautiful, slightly Mediterranean, balmy nights & outdoor terraces, a solid 26 degrees even in winter.. sounds like a bit of us.
But can we talk about Sandflies for a second? How off putting are they?
Being reclaimed land Airlie is prime location for them. And they are NASTY little buggers.
Anyone with O blood type will know that mozzies love us. Well sandflies love us even more. And it’s a love-bombing, obsessive kind of love that I can do without.
The kind that leaves big ugly welts and scars that don’t heal for weeks. Especially if like me you have an almost allergic reaction to them and come out in welts 😢
So a massive shout out Good Riddance Insect Repellant. If you’re heading up to the tropics or across to Bali/Thailand make sure to grab some of this before you go. It’s mosturising and even better DEET-free 🎉
Because
1. Bushman’s did nothing for them. They lapped it up like it was free beer at at frat party and..
2. No more lathering yourself in something that feels like you have actively agreed to hose yourself in round-up!
Anyway, sandflies are the pits!
But the tropics are the best. We never get tired of seeing the change in scenery as we bumper from coast to rainforest and move increasingly North.
