I fear reading and book shopping need to be counted as two seperate hobbies I am obsessed with! ☺️

It is so rare that I will go past a bookstore without walking in for a look even if I’m not buying anything. I also don’t care if I’m in Kmart or Big W for a completely unrelated reason — I will be taking myself past the book section.

Bookstore in this video is .the.novel in Sydney.

Come and unbox a PR package from and with me! 🦋

This is probably the most exciting bookish mail I have ever recieved and I am so grateful for it.

Over the next few days I’ll be testing out my new Kobo Libra COLOUR and Stylus Pen as I begin my digital annotating journey.

I am someone who gets really invested in books and loves to highlight my favourite quotes to look back on. However I am also way too scared to do this in my physical books because once I make a mistake, I can’t go back. This is why my Kobo is gonna change the game for me!

Let me know in the comments any questions you have about the Kobo Libra Colour and I will answer them in an update video coming soon.

We FINALLY got to catch up for March bookclub and discuss one of our most anticipated reads of 2026 — 𝑰𝒏 𝑯𝒆𝒓 𝑶𝒘𝒏 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒆 by Liz Tomforde.

For those who don’t know, this book is a spin off of one of my favourite series ‘The Windy City.’ While I’m sure you could read this as a standalone, I highly recommend you read this after all the other books to get the full experience.

Tropes:
🤫 Forbidden workplace romance.

and I actually did not see eye to eye on this book because for me Emmett was on the heels of Ryan Shay territory and it just didn’t hit for her. A little reminder that reading is subjective even between friends who usually love all the same books! Did this have anything to do with Dayna ignoring character descriptions? Maybe!

I personally LOVED this story and the chemistry between the two characters. I think even in the other books we could feel the tension between them and it was so exciting to see their steamy workplace romance unfold in a male dominated field. Reese is a complete BOSS babe and such a perfect addition to the Liz Tomforde universe. This book had me saying “ugh, I love WOMEN!”

And Monty? He is just so HOT, LOL. I had to remind myself that I was just reading words on a page and he wasn’t real. I also unexpectedly related so much to the feelings he had about being a young parent. Another thing I love about reading is finding parts of yourself in other characters.

I just loved this book so much! It had me smiling and squealing throughout. The way she writes characters gets me everytime. I could read a book about every damn character in this universe.

Have you read this one yet?

I am desperate for season two of , especially after this particular scene shown in the final episode. When I found out that there was a prequel about the three Sinclair sisters as teenagers — I ran and added 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒊𝒂𝒓𝒔 by to my cart!

This story is in the POV of Caroline/Carrie Sinclair (the eldest daughter) during the summer she is seventeen. I feel like I can’t fully explain the plot of the book without spoiling things for those who haven’t watched the show or read the first book, but what I will say is that it definitely shared some more insight into how the Sinclair family works and why they attempt to uphold the family image in ‘We Were Liars.’ I am in now in need of a rewatch! I feel like I know so much more about the mothers of the show now I know what they were like when they were younger.

Tropes:
🗓️ Prequel set in 1987.

🫆 YA psychological thriller.

Overall I thought this was a good read as I wait for season two of the show to be filmed. It honestly did not go the way I thought it was going to go (I had a few theories about what happened during their summer based off the episode but they were all wrong) and I wonder if it will change at all once the show has been created! The first season definitely added so much story surrounding the characters and so I am excited to see if they also flesh out storylines in season two!

Have you watched or read ‘We Were Liars?’ If you have and loved it — I highly suggest you read the prequel before it comes out on !

This story follows Indi Carmichael — widow, struggling farmer and self-help author. Despite her best friend’s attempts to get her back in the saddle after the loss of her husband, Indi is torn between supporting her son and writing her next best selling book. This leaves little time for fixing the endless problems at Manna Gum Farm… let alone dating!

Meanwhile washed-up actor Ben Whittam arrives in the small town of Kestrel Creek to film for the summer. But with the pressure of his producers and his anxious son’s nightmares getting worse… things are not going to plan.

With Indi’s future on the farm hanging by a thread and Ben’s career on the line, is falling in love while their lives are falling apart really the best idea?

Thanks so much to DMCPRMedia for an early copy of this!

The family and I went for a quick family visit in Canberra for a night… But I couldn’t help but stop at two books stores I always see online! 🛍️

✨ First up was — a romance and fantasy book shop! Such a cute little store and wish I could have stayed longer (but you know life with three kids)! I ended up purchasing one book that caught my eye but there are so many I wanted to take a longer look at. The woman working there was so sweet she even gave my kids a little Easter egg each. I will defs come back for a kid free trip so I can take more time.
✨ Next up was the iconic that is always featured in videos. This place had a HUGE kids range and even a few seats for them to sit down to browse their picks. Each of the kids picked out a few different stories/activity books to buy and once again I want to come back to look at the little trinkets they sell. They don’t just sell books, my sister in law purchased an Alice in Wonderland puzzle she’s gonna give a crack. Lovely customer service by the two ladies there — I think I met the girl who helps fuel Chloe’s Care Bear addiction!

Canberra bookish besties — what other bookstores should I visit next time I’m out this way? This was just a quick visit so I’ll pencil some more in on the next one when I have more time!
