A milestone passes. A VIP visit happens. A key piece gets installed.

And someone says: "We should've captured that."

We hear it all the time.

But it doesn't have to happen.

We build a basic visual plan into every long-term shoot. Key dates. Quick interviews. Drone checkpoints.

So you're not chasing content later. You've got it. Ready to go.

Best time to start capturing footage?

Day one. Maybe even day zero.

Film your stakeholders. Get the site from the air. Set up time-lapse before anything moves.
By the time you wrap, you've got the full story arc, a strong handover video, and a highlight reel for your next pitch.

Future you will thank you.

You’ve seen this look before (thx AI!)
Someone just moments from going on camera. Pale. Sweaty. Staff giggling behind the monitor. It’s not funny. It’s a disaster waiting to happen.

So, here’s a bit of straight talk for my marketing mates, especially those wrangling testimonials in corporate land:

1. Don’t push people on camera who don’t want to be there.
Seriously. If they hate the idea, it’ll show. Respect their “no.”

2. Prep like a pro.
Give them time, brief them properly, and let them get familiar with what they’re saying.

3. Keep the room clean.
Other staff hovering? Get them out. Fewer people = less pressure.

4. If you’re the talent: help yourself.
Know your topic. Rehearse on your phone if it helps. And don’t aim for perfect, aim for real. Real beats polished every time.

That’s how you get a performance, not a panic.

If you want your next project video to actually do something, don't stop at time-lapse.

The real impact comes when you layer in:

Short interviews with client and crew.
Drone shots at key milestones.
Before/after visuals from the same GPS point.

That's when your video becomes a tool for tenders, PR, and recognition.

Tell the full story.

If you’re the only marketing person across multiple states, you're not alone.

I've met plenty. You're constantly switching hats, brand, comms, sales enablement, events. And now someone wants a testimonial video… by next week.

Truth is, most marketing people I meet are strategic, but pulled too thin to show it.

If you're about to brief a video project, here's a quick mental check:
• Who actually needs to use this?
• Where does it live after launch?
• What’s the smallest version of success?

Don’t aim for “hero piece” every time. Aim for helpful.

You've spent 18 months building something significant.

After handover, it shouldn't just disappear.

With one well-planned video, you can recap the build, celebrate the team, and show the client in a great light.

It supports future tenders. It builds your company's legacy.

And it's easy—if you've got the right footage to work with.

That's where we come in.

You don’t always need more content.

You probably already have a goldmine.
A strong customer interview can be:
• Clipped for LinkedIn
• Embedded in a pitch deck
• Dropped into a proposal
• Shown at a conference

But it only works if you plan ahead.

Before you brief the shoot, ask:
• Can we get a few short clips from this?
• Will this still be useful in six months?
• Who else needs to use it internally?

Good content isn’t just creative.
It’s resourceful.

Time-lapse isn't just for the wrap-up video.

We've seen clients use it to:
Win tenders.
Resolve site disputes.
Explain timeline shifts to stakeholders.
Create social content without lifting a phone.

When it's planned right, it becomes an all-round comms tool.
One feed. Endless uses.

If someone’s dreading their on-camera moment, don’t roll straight into “action.”

Start with the conversation.
Ask them what they actually think about the topic.
No script. No pressure. No lights.

Then ease into filming when they’ve found their voice.

This isn't just a trick, it’s a trust builder.
When people feel heard, they speak better.
Simple as that.

You know the drill.
A simple video ends up in a holding pattern:
Legal → Brand → Regional Director → Back to Legal → Silence.

By the time it’s approved, the campaign’s moved on.

What helps?
Get a rough cut in front of people early—before things are locked in.
Not for sign-off. Just alignment.

The feedback you get before version 1 saves you five versions later.
And it keeps momentum going, which is half the battle.

Biggest myth about time-lapse?

That it's hands-off.

Truth is, a wobbly camera or inconsistent framing means garbage footage at handover.

We build every setup around three things:
What story the footage needs to tell.
Who needs access, and when.
How we get the cleanest angle without disrupting the site.
Then the real work: ultra-stable mounting, high-resolution images, frame-locked positioning for months.
Thousands of photos. All conditions.

Looks simple. There's real experience behind it.

The most effective internal videos rarely start with scripts or lighting setups.

They start with someone saying something worth hearing.

One people leader I filmed spoke off the cuff about burnout. Two minutes, one take, quiet office. Not Polished, but it hit home.

If you're in internal comms, you already know this:
It’s not about production. It’s about tone.

People aren’t looking for a campaign.
They’re looking for something that feels grounded. Especially from leadership.

Get the message right. The format will follow.
