What is the used of protecting wildlife!!??
elephant damaged a semi-permanent house in Chuzagang Gewog, Sarpang, at around 1 AM today. The elephant caused damage to the house and destroyed its electricity connection.

A grandmother and her six-year-old granddaughter, who were inside the house when the incident occurred, escaped unharmed.

Following the incident, officials from the gewog administration, local residents, Royal Bhutan Army personnel stationed along the border, and Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC) staff mobilized to assist the affected family.

For now, efforts are underway to construct a temporary shelter.

According to gewog officials, the elephant involved is believed to be a lone animal that has repeatedly entered the village and caused disturbances in recent months.

Authorities have urged residents to remain alert and immediately report wildlife intrusions to relevant agencies.
