The Australind Railcars have finally come to the end of the line, after 36 years of operation the Australind Railcars have retired and will be donated to Rail Heritage WA, so we can still enjoy them!!

This weekend, we say farewell to our current Australind railcars, which have proudly served the South West for 36 years.

Built in Bassendean in 1987, it was so modern, luxurious, and fast it was billed ‘the train that thinks it’s a plane!’

Today is the first of two commemorative services, with a second to run tomorrow.

We’ll be stopping in Brunswick, Harvey, Cookernup, Waroona and Pinjarra today - if you’re around, come and wave it goodbye!

This Sunday is the first run of the new Hotham Valley Railway Service!

The Diesel Ranger will be operating every Sunday in November, and featuring XA1401 aswell! don't miss out on this special service they are offering!

I just realised i have almost less than a month to ride on the current Australind carriages before they get retired. annoyingly i don't think i can go on it till the 18/19th of November but even then those are not public rides. so i might have to miss out on riding them for the last time.
