Unworthiness
Like standing in a storm with no shelter
Open to the lashings of regret forever after
Knocked down by the lack of love for oneself
Feeling into the spaces where I am lost or let down

Unworthiness
Is a space where my mind plays alone
Swings back and forth in and out of gloom
Looking for answers to questions of why, when and where
A companion to loneliness, the two dance hand in hand

Unworthiness
A reward for the reality of being abandoned
A gift passed down through many generations
The limitations and lack of others when they left
Will no longer make me feel that I am anymore than less

Unworthiness
As I peel back the onion and release all the layers
I discover that it was, in fact, never about me
What others had forced on me through their own inability
Is not a reflection of the value I have within me

Unworthiness
Thank you for the lesson of determination and resilience
With you have I have fought the battle and I emerge from the ashes
With a newfound love for myself and belief of what is capable
I am worthy and always was, and this is what I will always remember

It's an ache that never dulls
A desire always unfulfilled
My heart broken into pieces
Whenever I think of you

The years they come and go
Your heart implanted on mine
The love, the life and the lessons
Forever forged in time

I miss you still to this day
Thank you for choosing to love me as you did
Like a open wound that will never heal

Bonus day

It's saying no to bu****it
It's saying yes to self
It's having those bloody chocolates
And still loving where they rest

It's spending time with loved ones
Or spending time alone
It's putting one's own needs first
When others would put you down

It's the only love that matters
When hearts are broke or torn
It's the one that carries you through
During the stormy throws of love

Never forget your worth or wonder
You are a blessing to us all
Because you nurture the favor that matters
Your love of self is paramount before all else

It’s the difference between
What you do when no one’s looking
When you think you are not seen
It’s little things like picking up the rubbish
Or big like supporting another’s dream
It’s the singing of others praises
And not taking all the glory
The keeping to your word
When feeling hurt or angry
It’s the truth that you live and breathe
And people know that they can trust you
It’s a value, its your compass
How you live your life with valour
It’s not an adjective or noun
But a verb on how we show up for another
I live my life with integrity
It’s part of my everyday make-up
I wear it with pride and confidence
And hope you wear the same foundation
And your world has the same
Pride of self and honest morality
