Tomorrow night on the Magnificent 7 our special guest is Alan Barrett, the CEO of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority. Alan has had extensive experience in various roles in policy and corporate governance in the Ministry for Culture and the Arts, at the Art Gallery of WA and at the WA Museum. We will be chatting with Alan about the challenges of curating and managing public Art. We will also be finding out all about the wonderful Lightscape event at Kings Park. This is the first time that the Lightscape phenomenon has been to Perth. Your hosts tomorrow are Amanda Anderson and Andrew Pheasant. Tune in between 7 and 9 pm or listen online. Tonight on the Magnificent 7 James and Kay will be interviewing Ben Clarke. Ben is a multi instrumentalist, conductor and (in the spirit of Community Radio) is the Choral Specialist at Carine Senior High School.

We also have another James in the Studio tonight keeping an eye on us and learning what goes on.

This coming tuesday, the 14th of March, we are very pleased to welcome Brad Holland to our quiet little corner of the radio spectrum on the Magnificent 7.

We'll discuss what else he gets upto other than his "day job" and how it all helps out to his holistic approach to business.

We'll chat about how he got to this point, what he does to stay here and where it may go moving forward.

Brad (or Red as he's now known) is a fascinating man in his own right with loads of insight into behind the scenes in WA - and further afield - some of which "may" spill onto the airwaves this tuesday!

Tonight on the Magnificent Seven, our special guests are textile artists Julia Sutton and Pauline White. They are both Textile and Fabric Artists and have worked together on a number of projects.

They are now preparing a work for the Bunbury Biennale. This is a major West Australian contemporary art event at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery with an acquisitive component. It opens on April 2, 2023.

The 2023 Bunbury Biennale provides the theme Culture / Nature with the purpose of presenting a cohesive survey of WA contemporary arts practices. While many may feel confounded by the larger threats posed by environmental change, artists, designers, and craftspeople are at the forefront of asking what our relationship to the environment is, has been, and could be, going forward.

In response, 27 West Australian artists have been selected to explore this concept and submit new works to be exhibited as part of the show. Julia and Pauline have been selected to exhibit their work in a very competitive field of applicants.

The cunning plan, while the sun sets over the glorious Gossenghetti is for Des to regale us with tales of derring do behind the camera. We will ask him about his Black Belt, Discuss who he was most terrified of photographing, find out what he's up to now and of course listen to some great music.

Tomorrow evening on the Magnificent Seven our special guest is Jenna Robertson.

Jenna, pictured below, is an internationally award-winning independent artist and arts leader, Scottish-Australian Jenna Robertson is based on Wangerriburra country (Gold Coast Hinterland, Australia). Her current practice as a singer, writer, storyteller, creative director and producer leverages her diverse knowledge and vulnerability to change perceptions and inspire individual action on complex issues. Her practice spans vocal performance and writing through to the creation, directing and producing of arts projects for stage, screen, full dome and audio. Jenna works across forms including opera, music, film, digital storytelling and multimedia. Jenna will be appearing in the Bloomhouse Projects performance of Contemprary Communication. This is a show where contemporary Opera is communicated to the audience through sound, singing and signing. The show will be performed at the State Library of Western Australia on February 17. The show starts at 7.30 pm.
