From ticking off the Big Mango (and its little mate) in Bowen, to setting up camp at an awesome farm stay just outside Townsville - animals, unlimited firewood and some cracking nights by the fire.

Then it was straight into the madness of the Townsville 500.

Standing trackside while the V8s ripped past… yeah, Max summed it up perfectly: “THAT WAS NUTS!” 😂

We also soaked up the views from Castle Hill, took a dip at the local swim spot, followed Google into the sugarcane (no regrets 😅) and wrapped it all up with a wander to Kissing Point and a few laughs along the way.

From the Big Mango in Bowen to an awesome farm stay base just out of town… then straight into the madness of the Townsville 500 V8 Supercars - this trip had a bit of everything.

Max’s reaction at the track says it all 😂

Question for the brain trust 🤝 Pretty sure our gas regulator is faulty on our van - gas been working faultlessly until now on our Gator X. Essenatially we get gas coming through to the cook top initially, then fades away. Gas bottle is full.

My thoughts is a faulty regulator. Keen to hear from any van owners if you’ve experienced this yourself and if so, what was the fix? Ie - replacement regulator or otherwise.

How good is this place… honestly.

Hamilton Island and Airlie Beach gave us one of those magic little pockets of family time - big views, salty hair, kids burning energy on the iconic big swing, track walks and cooling off in the pool and ocean.

We squeezed a lot into a single day… snorkelling, exploring the island, a few “ouch” moments at the prices 😂 and plenty of laughs. Airlie was the perfect camp base to recover and soak it all in.

From a wild boat ride, to the kids absolutely loving the island, to some of the most insane views we’ve seen as we explored the island and back on the mainland at our base - Airlie Beach.
