Save the Black Cockatoos were proud to add our logo to this full page advert in The West Australian aimed at reducing global heating.

WA is the only State without a 2030 emissions target. While other States have falling emissions ours are rising.

This is a disaster for black cockatoos as the United Nations says global heating could see their home in the Northern Jarrah Forest face ecological collapse from heatwaves and drought.

Join 11,000+ Australians in calling for the Federal Government to fix our gas export problem.

WA is one of the worlds biggest exporters of gas so what we do matters and will help save the black cockatoos and thousands more ecosystems and species from the impacts of climate change.

🕛 Time: Meet & Greet with local wildlife from 11:45am | Forum commences at 12:00pm

Forum Focus – Life In and Around Water
This session shines a spotlight on aquatic species in the City of Swan, including Ellen Brook, the Swan River, and smaller creeks such as Ki It Monger. Our region is home to the most endangered reptile on the planet – the Western Swamp Tortoise – as well as a second, equally special freshwater tortoise species.

Ian Barlow – “The Crazy Bushman”: Well-known citizen scientist sharing insights into Swan’s two freshwater tortoise species and their aquatic world.

Dr Damian Lettoof: Conservationist and herpetologist with 15+ years’ experience studying reptiles, frogs, birds, and microbats, specialising in the impacts of pollution and urbanisation.

Poppy Mahon: Youth activist from Youth Action for Wildlife, advocating for change to protect native species from harmful rodenticides.

Why Attend?

Learn about the hidden dangers of second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs)

Meet local aquatic animals affected by unsafe pest control

Discover safe, effective, wildlife-friendly alternatives

Take part in an interactive session to design public education materials for our community
