AFL NEW WHIPPING BOYS

It's official, Essendon are the club that everyone beats up on after losing to former title holders WCE at Optus Stadium. With a slight breeze influencing skills at times, the Eagles skipped out to an early lead and were never really headed. Waterman and Murdoch both kicked 3 for the Eagles, while Archie Roberts was once again Essendon's best... Hurry up, Hirdy.

PSG GO BACK TO BACK

Paris Saint-Germain have gone back-to-back in the Champions League final overnight after beating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time. Arsenal stunned the reigning champs in the 6th minute, but PSG turned up the heat and drew level in the 65th minute from the spot. PSG calmly and clinically put away their penalties, while Arsenal got cute and tried the stutter step shot twice, gifting PSG the win.

DOGS DO ENOUGH

The Western Bulldogs have recorded a brave 4-point win over a sloppy but gallant Collingwood at Marvel Stadium. The Dogs looked to have the game sealed on a couple of occasions, but Collingwood refused to go away. In the end, they weren't good enough for long enough. Jordan De Goey was best on for the Pies, while Lewis, English, and Richards all kicked 2 for the Dogs, who look to be back on track after injuries threatened to ruin their season

Sydney has handed out a 114-point belting to a young and undermanned Richmond at the SCG. Not much to report, really. Most of the Swans played well, while most of the Tigers didn't... next

BAGGERS CAUSE BOILOVER!!!

The Carlton Football Club is on a bloody hot streak with 3—yes, 3—wins in a row. Turns out, Voss was the problem. The more fancied Geelong got off to a fast start but were pegged back and eventually overrun by a hard-working and exciting Carlton brigade led, as always, by their star, Patrick Cripps. The Blues almost threw it away, but a goal in the last 2 mins of the game, courtesy of their skipper, sealed a memorable win.

ROSS THE BOSS MASTERCLASS

St Kilda have failed another top 8 test after a frankly piss-poor 1st half against Hawthorn. The Saints finished with a miserable 0.4 at the half as Hawthorn ran riot. For the Hawks, it was the usual suspects with Gunston, Hardwick, Watson, and Chol among the best. For the Saints, Jack Silvagni was a lone hand up forward with 3, while TDK is still struggling to live up to the price tag
