Menstruation… ❤️
Today, I felt like writing about something that is a completely natural part of a woman’s life…
Menstruation.
Even today, there are people in our society who feel embarrassed to talk about periods. Sometimes, menstruation is treated as something that should be hidden or kept secret.
But menstruation is nothing to be ashamed of. It is not something dirty, and it is not an illness.
It is a completely natural biological process that takes place in a woman’s body. 🌸
Every month, the uterus prepares for a possible pregnancy by building up its inner lining. If pregnancy does not occur, this lining leaves the body along with blood and tissue. This natural process is what we call menstruation, or a period.
For many women, the menstrual cycle can range from around 21 to 35 days, while menstrual bleeding usually lasts for several days. Every woman’s body is different, so the timing, symptoms, and experience can vary from one person to another.
During those days, some women may experience abdominal cramps, back pain, headaches, breast tenderness, tiredness, bloating, and other physical discomforts.
Hormonal changes can also affect emotions and mood. Some women may feel more emotional, irritated, sad, tired, sensitive, or simply feel like they need some time to themselves.
So during those days, what a woman needs is not jokes, embarrassment, or criticism.
She needs understanding.
Love.
Respect.
Support. ❤️
It is especially important that we teach our daughters about menstruation from a young age in a healthy and positive way.
When a girl experiences her first period, she should not have to feel frightened or wonder, “Is something wrong with me?”
Instead, we should lovingly tell her:
“This is a normal change happening in your body. There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.”
And it is just as important to educate our boys.
They should grow up understanding that menstruation is a normal part of a woman’s life and should never be used as a reason to tease, embarrass, or disrespect a girl or a woman.
Let us talk about menstruation with knowledge, not shame.
Because having a period is not a woman’s weakness.
It is a natural process of her body. 🌷
During those days, give her a little more love…
Try to understand her a little more…
Support her a little more…
Because respecting a woman also means respecting the natural changes her body goes through. ❤️
