I’m a writer, lifelong learner, and occasional muse who believes we’re never too old to ask better questions or explore a little deeper.
Let's chat — about life, politics, love, and the tangled beauty of the world we share. ABOUT ME
I’m a writer and storyteller shaped by decades of work in leadership and learning. For over 30 years, I helped others navigate growth in corporate and community settings—now I write to explore what that journey looks like from the inside out. What began as a career in structured programs has become a q
uieter, more reflective practice—driven by curiosity, memory, and a deep belief in the power of story. These days, my work lives on the page: in journals, essays, speculative fiction, and books that ask how we live, learn, and care for one another. At the heart of it all is lifelong learning—not as a program, but as a way of being. I write for those who are still learning to listen to themselves, to history, to what’s changing, and to what matters. A LITTLE ABOUT LIFELONG LEARNING
Based in Perth, Western Australia, I’ve moved from consulting rooms to writing rooms—developing tools, ideas, and stories that honour the lifelong work of becoming. Lifelong Learning isn’t just a framework I once taught; it’s the thread that runs through everything I now write. If you’re seeking a slower, deeper way to grow—through journaling, reflection, or simply paying attention—you’re in the right place. Let’s keep learning, together.

Kalgoorlie History:
I’m travelling with Barb, my mate from Toodyay. Not only do we share a love of train journeys, but Barb has also been diving deep into her family ancestry — which turns out to have strong ties to early Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie.
She writes:
The heart of my Kalgoorlie adventure has been uncovering a largely forgotten — and perhaps deliberately ignored — history: the stories of the bold, colourful women who kept the hard-working miners from tearing each other apart from 1893 right through to today.
These women helped keep the men grounded and gave the goldfields some much-needed sanity. They deserve to be celebrated.
Honestly, I’d go as far as to say that without "the girls," the gold rush era — and the riches that built this state — might never have happened.

TRAIN TRAVELLER: Kalgoorlie
Hey, fellow travellers, ever felt the rails pull you into the heart of Australia’s wild west?
I just took the Prospector from Perth to Kalgoorlie—a 650km ride through WA’s golden outback—and wow, what a journey.
From the rolling greens of the Avon Valley to the endless Wheatbelt under big blue skies, it was all smooth tracks, comfy seats, and those soul-stirring views.
Stops like Northam and Merredin felt like little time capsules, while Kalgoorlie itself? A living gold rush museum, with the massive Super Pit still churning and the historic station echoing with old stories.
Modern comfort meets rugged history—WA train travel isn’t just about the destination. It’s about falling in love with the journey.
Got a favourite rail ride? Share it below—I’m all ears for your rail tales!

Yesterday I had lunch with three Sues. Yes—three! We’ve known each other since primary school. And when we get together, the conversation flows so easily, we barely come up for air. Four hours vanished in stories, laughter, and the kind of deep remembering that only old friends can bring out.
There’s something grounding about people who knew you before the world asked you to be anything else. These long lunches always linger with me, and I suspect they shape my writing more than I realise.
Memory, friendship, and the passage of time thread through my Footprints in the Future trilogy. One of the characters, Billie, reflects on the past in her later years through a piece I’ve shared on my site—A is for Awareness—as part of an A–Z of lifelong learning. It’s fiction… but not entirely.
I’ve had my head down lately, immersed in fiction and creative writing—a deep dive that has so been filling my heart with joy.
It’s reminded me that lifelong learning doesn’t always look like study or structure. Sometimes, it’s getting completely lost in a project that lights you up. Creativity has its own kind of nourishment—it steadies us, surprises us, and quietly teaches us something new about ourselves.
So I’m easing back in here—thankful, a little foggy-eyed, and definitely still writing.
What about you? What’s been feeding your curiosity or creativity lately? I'm also thinking about a train ride soon? Anyone interested?

🌿 I’ve created a new category on my blog—Essays—as a space to explore deeper reflections on learning, change, and what shapes the way we live.
The first one is called “When Stillness Provides the Clarity.”
It’s about those quiet moments when we begin to notice our thoughts—really notice them—and how that awareness can gently change the way we show up in the world.
This way of listening inward started for me years ago, during my mosaic-making era. That slow, absorbing craft—alongside journaling—quietly taught me how to tune into the inner stories I was telling myself. It changed how I learn, how I lead, and how I live.
If you have a moment, I’d love for you to read it. And if it resonates, let me know.

Lifelong Learning is about embracing learning; by seeing every life event and challenge as an opportunity to learn. It is a continuous improvement approach to enabling potential.
We operate out of Toodyay in Western Australia and offer products and services in three (3) key areas: wellness, workshops and tours.
WELLNESS: focuses on the mind-body connection, using a 9-dimensions model for exploring overall wellness. There is a Book of Wellness, a Journal and many workshops to enhance well-being and optimise wellness.
Our Wellness, Witchery and Wonder approach explores the 9-dimensions, awakens the magic within (witchery) through spells (our contemporary take on affirmations) and opens our minds to the wonder of possibilities and potential.
WORKSHOPS: focus on being or becoming a lifelong learner? A regular schedule of workshops is offered around all things that enhance wellness, such as learning about the 9-dimensions (of wellness), communication – which we call conscious conversations, learning about Self using tried and proven products such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – MBTI® and the Magic of Mosaics, a great mindfulness activity along with creating a beautiful mosaic piece.
TOURS: we offer Toodyay as a destination and provide joyful experiences all geared around enhancing your wellness.
Many experiences (in our Tours range) include a ‘long table learning lunch’ another favourite product of ours that explores topics to create focus on your well-being over great conscious conversations and fabulous local produce.
Lifelong Learning is an Accredited Tourism Business (ATB).
Lifelong Learning operates Wednesday through to Sunday.
Visitors are welcome to drop in on advertised OPEN days between 10am – 3pm.
