Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series will head to Geraldton for back to back shows February 28th and March 1st 2026!

GERALDTON.....HERE WE COME!!!

Geraldton City Speedway is set to host two rounds of the upcoming Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series.

The series will head north for back-to-back shows on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1 (the March long weekend) as part of the 2025-26 championship.

Geraldton City Speedway secretary Dean Davidson said they were “extremely grateful for the club to have this opportunity”.

He said having 410ci sprintcars at the track would be the icing on the cake after a lot of work has been conducted in recent years, including bringing the safety fence up to standard and other recent upgrades.

“It will be an extremely popular event for the local community,” Davidson said.

“We can’t wait for the local community to be exposed to the highest quality sprintcar racing in Australia.

“And everyone will get to see local hero Callum Williamson (a two-time Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series champion) in action on his local track.”

The smaller track configuration is expected to be something different for the series drivers.

Davidson said the track was only 365 metres a lap on the pole line, which will produce some ‘tight’ racing.

He said the club was now planning for the event, including bringing in extra grandstand seating to cater for big anticipated crowds.

The club is hoping speedway fans will take advantage of it being a long weekend and travel to the Mid West city to enjoy local tourist attractions at the same time.

Sprintcar Entrants Group chairman Geoff Kendrick said it was great to be able to expose the series to a wider audience.

“The series continues to grow, thanks to the support of a lot of great series sponsors and we are grateful to expose those sponsors, and all the fantastic racing teams to more people,” Kendrick said.

“We still have more announcements to be made regarding the series, but it is already shaping up to be another great season of sprintcar racing in Western Australia.”

SERIES GOES ON THE ROAD

The Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series is heading to Albany.

The Sprintcar Entrants Group (SEG) and the Sprintcar Association of WA (SAWA), have signed a deal with Albany Speedway to host round five of the 2025-26 series, on Saturday, December 13.

SEG chairman Geoff Kendrick is excited to take Australia’s leading speedway series to the Great Southern.

“Over the past few seasons we have built up a lot of momentum with our series, giving us a solid foundation to build on as we head into the next season, which gets underway at the Perth Motorplex in October,” Kendrick said.

“As part of lifting the profile of our series and series sponsors, we are pleased to have done a deal with the Albany club to go there in December.

“This will be a great challenge for the drivers in our series to test themselves on a different track and we can’t wait to put on a show in Albany to show everyone in that part of WA what the series is all about.”

Attwell Park is a 440 metre clay surface, with the track being 20 metres wide all the way around and having 5-10 degrees banking.

Chantelle Rowley, Albany Speedway, said it was going to be “absolutely fantastic for our club and the Great Southern region to bring the sprintcars here”.

“I think it will be amazing to see all the sprintcars drivers who we always see up at the Perth Motorplex down here on our track,” she said.

“We get the limited sprintcars, but nothing like the 410s, it is going to be great to see them just tearing the track up.”

The Albany round will be part of the local club’s 60th anniversary season that will feature a cocktail dinner on November 7, before the opening meeting on November 8.

This is another piece of the MTSS calendar puzzle - final details of the full calendar will be confirmed in coming weeks.

🚚 SERIES EXPANDS ‼️

The Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series has included a new venue for the 2025-26 calendar.

While the final calendar is still on the dyno, we can confirm there will be a road trip to at least one new venue next summer.

We will tell you more later this week.

And we can't wait to go racing in October.
