Round 2 Report
Sunday 17th May saw the cream of WA's Road Racers gather at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway for the running of the second round of the Round 2 SYNERGY SURVEYS 2026 WA STATE ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS. The weather was perfect for racing and with good numbers across the Championship classes, the action was hard and fast all day.
First up were the Dynapumps Superbikes and with Championship leader Sam Clarke missing this round having suffered a broken ankle in a training mishap, the rest of the field was keen to make the most of the situation. Jayden Martin(Aussie Moto Engineering Yamaha R1), Ben Stronach(Dynapumps Yamaha R1) and Adam Senior(Senior Engineering Yamaha R1) dominated the top three places with Stronach taking a strong win in the opening race with Martin second and Senior third. Fourth place went to Warren French(Hughes Engineering Kawasaki ZX-10) and Josh Cook(CTR Yamaha R1) rounded out the top five in his first race back from injury. In Race 2 Martin took a narrow win ahead of Stronach with Senior again third. French and Cook again finished fourth and fifth respectively. Race 3 was a repeat of race 2 with Martin again taking a narrow victory. Martin took the round win with 70 points, second was Stronach with 65 points, third was senior on 54 points, fourth was French with 51 points and Cook rounded out the top five with 48 points.
In the RS Contracting C Grade Series Josh Cook took the honours in his comeback ride with 75 points, second was Reece Southern(All Aspects Landscaping Kawasaki ZX-10) with 60 points and rounding out the top three was Luke Whillians(Marechal Electric Australia Yamaha R1) with 54 points.
In the State Sidecar Championship RHR Racing outfits dominated the day's racing with first and second in the first two races and the win in race three. In race 1 Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone(Kawasaki ZX-10) took a comfortable win ahead of Graeme Evans/Robert Dillon(Kawasaki ZX-10) with Sam Watson/Andrew Lock(Calmack Panel & Paint LCR Suzuki) in third place. Fourth were Tom Quaye/David Mercer(Meon Valley Racing(MRE Suzuki 998) with Murray Stronach/Darryl McLeod(Turnapart Engineering Suzuki GSXR1000) rounding out the top five. Race 2 saw Nash/Mapstone again take the win ahead of Evans/ Dillon with father son combo Robert and Hamish Taylor(Turret Engineering LCR Suzuki) in third, fourth were Quaye/Mercer with Watson/Lock rounding out the five. Race 3 saw Evans/Dillon take the win after Nash/Mapstone snapped the oufit chair axle going into the Basin, the Taylor's took second place with Watson/Lock in third. Quaye/Mercer again placed in fourth with Morgan Marshall/Max Perrin filling in for regular passenger Matt McLeish in fifth place. Evans/Dillon took the round win with 65 points, tied for second were the Taylor's along with Watson/Lock with 52 points, fourth were Quaye/Mercer on 51 points with Nash/Mapstone in fifth with 50 points.
In the MA17TIN COACHING Production Championship Lauchy Williams(Primero Yamaha R3) stamped his authourity on the class with three dominant wins. Second in Race1was Leo Darling(Prowest Engineering Yamaha R3) with Abbie Cameron(Mototech T.T. Yamaha R3) in third place. Fourth was Muneeb Tahir(Motomart AU Kawasaki 400)with Tahlia Lang(Stable Watercarting Stable Hire Kawasaki Ninja300). Race 2 Williams again took the win ahead of Ashton Reid(Safe Technique M/C Training Yamaha R3) with Darling in third. Fourth was Emily O'Brien(Registered Painters Kawasaki Ninja 400) with Cameron in fifth place. Race 3 was a carbon copy of Race 2. Williams took the round win with 75 points, second was Darling with 56 points, third was Reid with 55 points, fourth was Cameron with 50 points with lang rounding out the top five with 46 points.
In the Premier Services Australia Production Lights Tahlia Lang took the round win with 75 points, second was Ashley Thorman(Safe Technique M/C Training Kawasaki Ninja 300) on 56 points, third was Mark Costa(Freedom Wheels Kawasaki Ninja 300) on 52 points and Harley Wyatt(Bax, Brando's Mobile Truck Service, M&S O'Brien Kawasaki Ninja 300) rounded out the class with 40 points.
The Ducati Perth BEARS Series Leigh Boujos(BMW S1000RR) took three wins from as many starts and was untroubled over the day's racing. Second in Race 1 was Martin Monahan(O.C.C. Contracting BMW S1000RR) with Paul Davies(Motorcycle Assist BMW S1000RR) in third place. Fourth was Jason Cawthorne(Ducati Panigale V4 S), fifth was Julian Carlsson(Aprilia RSV4 RF V-4. sixth was Shea McConomy(Triumph Dayton 675) and seventh was Kelsey O'Connor(Crossfit Norsemen Aprilia RS 660 Trofeo). Race 2 was a repeat of the first race with just Cawthorne and Carlsson swapping places. Race 3 saw Boujos win from Davies, Monahan, Cawthorne, Carlsson, McConomy and O'Connor. Boujos took the Round win with 75 points, Monahan was second with 58 points, third was Davies with 56 points, Cawthorne was fourth with 50 points and Carlsson took fifth place with 49 points. In the F2 Division Mcconomy took the win with 75 points, with O'Connor second with 60 points.
The Cully's Motorcycle Centre Supersport Championship saw two different winners on the day. In Race 1 Lauchy Williams(Primero Yamaha R6) took the win ahead of Jordan White(Trakdayz Yamaha R6) with Adam Senior(Senior Engineering Yamaha R9) in third spot. Ross Hudson(Ma17tin Coaching Yamaha R6) was fourth with Ryan Pietsch(Go Moto Store Yamaha r6) fifth. Race 2 saw Williams again take the win from Senior with White in third spot. Fourth was Hudson with Pietsch again fifth. Race 3 saw White take the win from Senior, Williams, Hudson and Pietsch. Supersport Round winner was Lauchy Williams with 62 points, tied for second were White and Hudson on 61 points, fourth was Pietsch on 54 points and fifth was Ryan McGovern on 50 points.
In the Registered Painters Perth WA Next GenSuperstock Series Adam Senior took the win with 75 points.
In the Northside Motorcycles C Grade Series Harley Wyatt(Bax Honda CBR600RR) took the win with 75 points, second was Joel Calley(Honda CBR600RR) with 58 points and third was Martin Calley(Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycle Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) with 56 points.
In the Westwide Air Conditioning Services Clubman 1000 Will Power(Track Action Yamaha R1) made it a clean sweep of the three races. In Race 1 Brad Lawson(Yamaha R1) took second place with Julian Carlsson(Aprilia RSV$ RF V-4) taking third place. Craig Eldridge(Yamaha R6) was fourth with Bryan McCormack(Yamaha R6) rounding out the top five. Race 2 Power managed to hold off Eldridge with Carlsson in third place. McCormack took fourth place with Kraig Healey(Global Motorcycle Skills Suzuki GSX-R600) rounding out the top five. Race 3 was a carbon copy of race 2. Will Power was the round winner with 75 points, second was Carlsson with 60 points, Luke Newton(Honda CBR1000RR) took third place with 52 points.
In the SBK Imports Clubman 600 Craig Eldridge was the round winner with 75 points, second was McCormack with 60 points, third was Healey on 54 points, Sean Stewart(Honda CBR600RR) was fourth with 49 points and rounding out the top five was Shea Mcconomy(Triumph zdaytona 675) with 46 points.
