MEET THE BAND: ⭐️

Becca Attwood (they/he) is a theatre maker and musician who’s currently undertaking their third year of Performance Making at WAAPA. Becca’s current practice experiments with intertwining music, poetry, and movement to tackle themes surrounding q***r identity, colonialism and belonging. Their most recent work, “BLOOP BLOOP” [Lead Creative/Composer/Performer] was developed as a part of Bluejoy Theatre Company’s New Beginnings program for Perth Fringe 2026. More recent works include: “Echolocation” [Music Director/Sound Designer/Performer], “Generator: Precipice” [Music Director/Composer/Devisor], “Confessional” [Performer], and “Stand and Deliver” [Performer]. Becca is excited to be playing live alongside Ayo after working together on “Home Frequencies: E Káàbo” for Melville Contemporary 2025.

MEET THE BAND: .petta ⭐️

Gianni Petta is a saxophonist & composer about to commence his honours year of studies at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He recently spent a month in New York taking part in the Jazz Arts Collective’s Summer Jazz program, where he was lucky enough to study with legendary Baritone Saxophonist Gary Smulyan. Gianni can be seen performing regularly around Perth with groups such as the Fire-Bug Band, The WAAPA Big Band, as well as regularly in musical theatre productions and in his own personal projects.

What does Joy mean to Gianni? 🎈
To me, Joy refers to a state of inner peace or bliss where the stresses and worries of everyday life are gone, which allows me to find happiness.
