Heyaa!!!
Us two have made the tricky decision to take Neon Readings to a monthly slot instead of every fortnight, at least until November. Sorry if this is a bummer!! We’re two busy bitchez.
Gonna be doing some more *special* gigs though, for August we’re plotting a classic ANTI SLAM so please peel your eyes for us. 🪒👁

Apologies if this is potentially triggering for anyone, but please share the word and help us book some incredible poets to join us for a very deserved cause. Being an online event, we are looking for poets with reliable internet. Preference will be given to poets with a connection to Perth WA. Please also feel free to message us any questions about the event or the local charity. Details for how you can get a ticket to be in the zoom audience (and open mic) will be released closer to the date. Applicants should message the Duck&Dash Poetry page (leaving a comment on this post will not be accepted) with the following:
- Both your legal name and your performance name
- Preferred pronouns (we'd hate to get them wrong)
- whether you identify as LGBT+, disabled and/or have experience in youth homelessness
- what your connection to Perth WA is
- Your email and phone number
We will then get in contact with you asking for a bio and a sample poem in either .pdf or .docx files. This is NOT a commitment to accepting poets as a feature, that will come after. Cut off is June 1st.

Dureshawar Khan is Pashtun writer, poet and interdisciplinary
performance artist living and working on Wadjuk Nyoongar Boodja. Her work explores themes of cultural identity, womanhood and belonging from the perspective of a mis/displaced Pashtun woman.
