And this is how I actually got my first retail job in Australia. 🇦🇺

I had no retail experience, had never worked with suits, and was completely new to the country.

But I knew I had the experience and the ability to learn. I just had to put myself out there and show them that.

And I got the job. 🥹

Looking back, the biggest lesson was simple:

If you never ask, you never know.

They might say no. And that’s okay. You move on.

If you’re new to Australia, looking for work or starting over in a new country, I hope this gives you a little push to put yourself out there. 🤍

I almost missed my first job in Australia… because I didn’t know they were trying to hire me. 😭

This happened on literally my first day looking for a job in Australia, and the only reason I found out was because I decided to go back to the very first store I had spoken to that day.

What happened next still feels a little crazy to me. 😂

If you’re new to Australia, looking for work, or starting over in a new country, this one’s for you.

Sometimes you just have to put yourself out there, even when you’re scared. 🧡

A date night spot in North Coogee that has the food AND the vibes. 🍕🍝✨

We spent the evening at Om Nom Nom Pizza & Pasta Bar and the whole place was such a vibe. Neon lights, cosy corners, photo-worthy spots and that beautiful North Coogee setting. 🧡

Here’s what we tried:
🍕 OG Pizza
🍝 Lamb Ragu Pappardelle — 6-hour slow-cooked lamb, parsley & pecorino. Easily my favourite.
🍅 Bruschetta — fried dough, feta, tomatoes & stracciatella. Definitely not your usual bruschetta.
🍟 Beer-battered chips
🍮 Om Nom Nom — fried dough, custard, caramelised sugar, pistachios, seasonal berries & crushed meringue.

🍹 Aperol Spritz for me
🍸 Basil Smash for Trev

The lamb ragu was the standout for me. Six-hour slow-cooked lamb in a pasta? I already knew I was going to love it. 😂

If you’re looking for a Perth date night spot with good food, great atmosphere and somewhere to walk around afterwards, I’d definitely put North Coogee on your list.
