It was emotionally draining for the team to work on this issue of Wollondilly Express. Unfortunately there are also more crime reports within the paper. The Shire desperately needs a Police Area Command and despite Judy Hannan MP - Member for Wollondilly pleas to the NSW Police Minister there is no sign of a PAC in the near future.
There are some good news stories on the pages, featuring some remarkably talented young athletes and tireless volunteers - the good in the community being the majority.

On sale Friday morning.

A significant thunderstorm with lightning activity is currently moving across the Southern Highlands which has resulted in two reported fires in the Buxton and Balmoral areas which firefighters are currently responding to.

This highlights the need, when it is safe to do, for residents to check their properties for lightning strikes that may have started fires. All fire should be reported to 000 immediately.
