The Hawker History Group recently opened an exhibition and launched an accompanying book telling the stories of some of those who had lived and worked at the sidings and on the rail lines in the district.

The project began over a year ago when the last teacher at Neuroodla Siding school, which closed at the end of 1962, agreed to share his story with the local Hawker community paper, The Town Crier.
