🌱 Why Are We Fundraising? 🌱

The Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre has been supporting our community for almost 40 years. To ensure we can continue providing a safe, welcoming and accessible space for generations to come, we're raising funds through our "Be the Reason We Grow" campaign.

Funds raised will help improve security, air-condition key community spaces, create additional office space for visiting services, and build a new community BBQ shed to support connection and community wellbeing.

Friday morning started in Port Douglas with a round up on the Gazzamataz early morning radio 101.5 Douglas FM where we talked about Disaster Relief funding cuts by Federal Govt, the proposed marine facility for Dickson Inlet, Quaids Road opening and my planned trip across the Daintree River with Douglas Shire Council to inspect potential post natural disaster emergency barge landing sites. More to follow on this topic.

In light of the tragic accident which occurred on Friday and following consultation with community, the decision has been made to postpone this Sunday's outdoor broadcast fundraiser at Club Mossman out of respect for those affected and ongoing Sorry Business within community. Douglas FM sends our deepest sympathies to all affected. 🙏

Club Mossman is postponing the Take 2 Douglas FM Outdoor Broadcast that was scheduled on Sunday 31st May 2025 due to the recent tragic events in our community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends affected by the recent tragedy.

Dear Mossman Gorge friends and family, in light of the tragic accident that occurred on Friday, which has impacted so many, and after consultation with family and community, we’ve made the decision to postpone Yalanji RAW. Our deepest sympathies are with all those affected. We’ll share updates on the new date once confirmed.

There are no changes to Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre's opening hours or tour schedules.
