This remote group of islands are the Frankland Islands and just 40 mins south of Cairns, they are the epitome of tropical paradise

Here’s what you need to know:

✨WHERE IS IT:
The islands are located off Deeral, about 40 minutes south of Cairns

✨HOW TO GET THERE:
A bus will pick you up from you Cairns accommodation and take you to the Mulgrave River where you’ll board a boat. The boat ride is almost half the fun and goes through the rainforest

✨WHEN TO GO:
Luckily, the islands are beautiful year round and the water is always warm so there’s never a bad time to visit!

Port Douglas is the only Australian destination to make the Top 10 list and as someone who packed up their whole life and moved here, I can tell you the hype is real 🩵

So, you’ve heard of the picturesque mountain village of Kuranda but not sure what to do there? I got you 😌

Here’s the perfect way to get the most out of your day in —

✨Save this for your next trip to ✨

9am - Fuel up for a big day of exploring with an iconic crepe from . I went for their two most popular - the kangaroo prosciutto and classic cinnamon sugar + butter 🤤

10am - Hit the to grab some beautiful locally sourced and made goodies (perfect for souvenirs)

10:30am - Cuddle koalas, feed wallabies and meet some cute marsupials at the famous

11:30am - This will lead you straight into . Warning: some of these guys are very cheeky

12pm - You can’t visit Kuranda without browsing the (Make sure you try the matcha from the Japanese Tea House!!! 🍵)

1pm - Don’t skip the shops on the Main Street! has some incredible local goods and art galleries

1:30pm - Wander over to and get a good glimpse Cairns Birdwing and Ulysses butterflies 🦋

2:30pm - Jump on the last .riverboat tour for the day and keep an eye out for cassowarries!
