$17,700 raised. 💛
To everyone who donated, shared our posts, came to our fundraisers or supported us along the way, thank you. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Together, the Sh*tbox Rally autumn community raised over $2.5 million for Cancer Council.
How do you even describe what that week was?
You spend a week with 400+ strangers who stop feeling like strangers almost immediately. Every single person has been impacted by cancer in some way, whether they’ve fought it themselves, are still fighting, or are rallying in honour of someone they love.
It was one of the few places where CEOs, tradies, doctors, teachers, McDonald’s workers and retirees all arrived in cars worth the same amount, with exactly the same mission. No status. Just people united by a cause.
Peeing on the side of the road becomes normal, dinner that isn’t another sausage feels like a luxury, and every day in the outback brings another incredible sunrise, sunset and sky full of stars.
People call Sh*tbox Rally bogan chaos, and sure, there’s plenty of that, but every team had to raise at least $5,000 for Cancer Council to be there. Behind every car is a story, and behind every story is someone cancer has touched.
I miss my Nanny and Poppy every day. I wish I could show my Nanny one more worldly sunset. As much as I wish they were still here, without losing them I never would have experienced this rally with Dad or met the incredible people who are now part of our story.
Cancer has taken so much from so many of us, but this week reminded me that it has also created one of the kindest communities I’ve ever been lucky enough to be part of.
Thank you for helping us raise $17,700. 💛
