Katie’s a survivor! 🎶

This is is one of the most beautiful reviews I have EVER received - thank you so much to Kara White at Scenestr- I also feel this extraordinary picture by Elise De Simoni : Photographer captures the moment Kara is talking about in 'When the heart falls apart' - a moment of hopeful sadness accompanied by my friends Cameron, Sarah, Stephen and Tom of River Suite Orchestra string quartet

After signing the divorce papers the day before, I actually woke up Thursday morning in Adelaide with no voice - just stress manifesting in the body. Not sick, just grief...but grief is a gift, it means we loved people so very much and we miss them completely, we miss what we thought may have been, we miss the future we imagined, we miss who we were with them and them with us.

I totally underestimated the intense toll performing this album would take on me, but it is reviews like this that make me realise I am doing what I am meant to do, and as the beautiful Trent Dalton said - 'when the heart falls apart, there is always a second start - for healing is an art.'
