We raise funds to support the holistic care of vulnerable women and children in Uganda & South Sudan

Sponsors provide so much for Watoto. They ensure our babies and children have everything they need to become the leaders God has called them to be. Yet, there are more children that need our help. You can help us be ready to care for a child in need before they have a chance to be sponsored.

This Christmas, you can donate to help us provide food, clothes, and medical care for a child for an entire month. What a beautiful gift!

Donate at WATOTO.com (link in bio) and change a life today.

Twins, Gabriel and Gabriella, came to Watoto when they were little babies. Shortly after receiving the nutrition and love they deserve, they quickly started to gain weight and live a life full of health and happiness.

They’re the result of love in action. Someone, just like you, gave so we could welcome them home with food, clothes, and medical care.

You can change a child’s story simply by visiting WATOTO.com (link in bio) and giving the gift of love today.

What does obedience look like when it costs everything?
In February 2025, Vas and Claudia Stavrou left behind their five children and thirteen grandchildren to follow God’s call to Uganda.

Their story will inspire you.

"Mum was nervous about me travelling to Uganda. Even though she’d met the choir and knew the organisation, she was still concerned for my safety. My best friend was coming with me, which helped—but saying goodbye at the airport still felt surreal. Mum was crying, and I am thinking, “Are we really going to Africa right now?” We arrived at night, but even in the darkness, the drive was eye-opening—so many people wandering the streets, animals on the road, and vendors selling almost everything. We were taken to a large red-brick guesthouse where we spent our first night. The staff were incredibly kind, and they cooked the most delicious meal. The next day, we bought some groceries and headed to Suubi Village, where we would be living for the next month. As soon as you drive into Watoto, you are struck by how organised and lush it is compared to the rest of Kampala. After settling into a house, we shared with another 22-year-old from the USA and completing orientation, we were taken to Baby Watoto. For the next month, I helped in the one-to-eighteen-month room—feeding them, playing with them, and reading to them. I was even able to take one of the smallest babies, Grace, to church. She was so light, and being able to worship while holding such a precious little baby is a moment I will never forget. During our time in Uganda, we attended a local cell group, met families from all over the world, and a neighbourhood mum. She was caring for six children in a tiny shack with no electricity, no running water, and just one mattress that the entire family shared. She had recently joined the program and dreamed of opening her own store. Towards the end of my trip, during worship, I felt the Lord say to me, “What are you going to do with the life I have given you?” I thought about my family, my education, my financial resources, and how much money I spend on things I don’t need. This trip made me rethink my priorities. Life is about people — and in the end, the things we chase will fade. When I think about the future now, even though I am young, I know it’s going to look very different."

Rescued as babies, Ambrose, Joshua, and Moses were saved because some like you gave to Watoto. And today, the triplets have big dreams for their future.

This Christmas, we’re inviting you to give the Gift of Love, so we can be there for more vulnerable babies and children in Uganda, right when the need us most.

As we celebrate the gift of Jesus this holiday season, we hope you’ll join us in showing His love to those who need it most.

Michael was just a baby when he was rescued and welcomed into Watoto. Today, he’s making a difference in the lives of his younger Watoto brothers and sisters as a leader in our Watoto Children’s Choir. You may even recognise Michael from last year’s Choir tour.

You can give the Gift of Love today to help us raise future leaders just like Michael.

Your generosity will help provide food, clothing, and the loving family every child deserves.

"Throughout my life, I’ve found God leading me into places I never expected to go. Looking back now, I see how He’s been weaving all those moments and experiences together into something far bigger than I could have imagined. In the process, my life has been changed. At the Payton Foundation we believe philanthropy not only changes the lives of those we support but also transforms ours. For us, giving isn’t just an add-on — it’s a pillar that strengthens everything we do. When I started at the Payton Foundation, we were supporting just a handful of charities. Today, that number has grown to 46 — all made possible through the generosity of our founding business, Payton Capital, and our giving partners. My role is to connect with these charities — to listen to them and ask one simple question: How can we help? Recently, I had an opportunity to spend three days with Watoto. It was deeply moving. Watoto’s model of care is unlike anything I’ve seen — world-class in its delivery, yet grounded in something profoundly simple: love. But what struck me most was this — what’s missing isn’t passion, vision, or strategy. It’s resources. Just $10,000 is enough to renovate a Watoto house — a safe and loving home for one mother and eight orphaned or vulnerable children. Ten thousand dollars. And Watoto has the capacity to renovate ten houses a month if they had the funds. Imagine what could happen if we combined our resources, our networks, and our influence to help restore all the houses across their villages. We also met neighbourhood mums living in heartbreaking conditions. One mother we met was raising her two-year-old in a 2x2-metre shack behind her small market stall. For just $159, Watoto can provide an Embrace Package — a charcoal stove, soap, a cleaning bucket, and a mattress. It’s such a small amount, yet it changes everything. I came home thinking about Christmas — about how much we spend on gifts, on Secret Santas, on things that often end up forgotten. And I couldn’t shake this thought: What if we chose to give differently this year? The significance of this gift cannot be overlooked. The lives of these women and their children will be transformed."

(2/3) In 2017, God did it again. I was invited to teach dance at Watoto’s Worship and Creative Camp, which ignited my heart even more for Jesus and for the children of Uganda. I witnessed firsthand how dance and music can bring freedom, joy, and healing in ways that words sometimes cannot. On the final night, we invited the young people to perform a piece we had been workshopping to the song So Will I. Knowing where these kids had come from and seeing where they were now was incredibly emotional. My friend and I held each other, tears streaming down our faces. By the time the camp ended, I had already decided I wanted to return and volunteer for six months. But almost immediately, fear hit me. I remember thinking: What have I done? It felt overwhelming. Yet, once again, God provided. My school gave me their blessing to go, and an unexpected tax return, along with donations from friends and family, helped cover my expenses. Over the course of six months, I taught in the primary schools, worked alongside the teachers, taught dance at the Worship Academy, and assisted with the Christmas Cantata at Watoto Church. Before leaving Australia, I had also put out a call for ballet shoes and arrived at Watoto with a massive suitcase filled with shoes, skirts, and tights. I’ll never forget handing them out. I have a photo of a little girl at one of the Watoto Villages receiving a pair of ballet shoes—shoes that had already been worn by someone else—and she was absolutely overjoyed. Our kids might get excited over a Nintendo Switch or a new iPhone, but for her, those well-worn ballet shoes were the most precious gift from God. What I’ve learned from this experience is that if you choose faith over fear and simply say yes, God will take you places you could never have dreamed possible.
