On this day in 2023, Tony Bennett dies aged 96 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was still making music at 95 years old.
Tuesday 22nd July:
The Who released ‘Join Together’ back in 1972.
Wednesday 23rd July:
Back in 2002, Dire Straits played the first of three shows at Shepherd's Bush Empire, London. It's their first concert since 1992.
Thursday 24th July:
In 1998, Gunil of Xdinary Heroes was born (for my New Millennium K-pop fans).
Friday 25th July:
AC/DC released Back In Black on this day in 1980, their first album without lead singer Bon Scott, who died five months earlier.
Saturday 26th July:
In 1968, The Jackson 5 join Motown Records, signing a one-year contract. They move from their home in Gary, Indiana, to Los Angeles.
Sunday 27th July:
At Gillette Stadium in Boston, Taylor Swift brings out Carly Simon to sing with her on ‘You're So Vain’ in 2013.
