The Village Voice

The Village Voice The Village Voice is your paper. Community News, Good News, Sports News. Covering Lithgow, Oberon , Blayney and Bathurst. This is the news of the people.

Send stories to [email protected] Why is it that the news we get each week is bad, terrible or worse. We live in a great community, the gateway to the central west of NSW and we have amazing stories to tell. Lithgow is a unique area being made up of so many wonderful villages, full of great people that still believe in local community. Our goal is to tell the stories of those communities

week in week out, but we need your help. The Village Voice is built on the principle of citizen Journalism, you already have the stories, we just provide you a platform to be heard. Our state of the art website allows you to send us your stories, which are then checked and published to the website every day, the stories that are of interest to the community, gauged by some clever technology on the website, are the ones that our journalists then follow up further on and get right into the story. Our region can lead the way and show the rest of the world how it is done. Rich Evans

🏆🎉 Record-Breaking Nominations for the 2026 Oberon Business Awards! 🎉🏆

Wow, Oberon! We are thrilled to announce that we have received more than 400 nominations for the 2026 Oberon Business Awards – another record-breaking year and a significant increase on last year’s incredible result. 💚

This outstanding response is a testament to the strength, diversity, and community support for businesses right across the Oberon region.

📧 Please keep an eye on your inbox for an email from OBTA outlining the next steps and submission requirements. Don’t forget to check your spam or junk folder just in case!

Did you know that winning an Oberon Business Award can be the start of an even bigger journey? Our local winners progress through to the Central West Business Awards, with the opportunity to then compete at the NSW Business Awards.

A fantastic example is Erica from Active Living OT, our 2025 Outstanding New Business winner, who went on to win at the Western NSW Awards and will now represent the region at the NSW Business Awards. 🌟

Congratulations to all nominated businesses. We can’t wait to celebrate your achievements and showcase the incredible talent we have right here in Oberon.
