20 years ago today Dad and I won the Tasar World Championship at Darwin Sailing Club over an open fleet of 131 boats. My first World Championship win, a break out for us, and what was quite possibly the start of my career in sailing - pretty special to be in Darwin now by complete chance. Crazy… Amazing memories 🩵⛵️

Hamilton Island Race Week’s 40th anniversary celebrations are hotting up, with more than 160 entries confirmed for the annual sailing regatta to be contested from 16-23 August in the glorious Whitsunday Islands. This year, Race Week is also introducing Olympic class match racing as an exhibition series, with the Australian and New Zealand men’s 49er and women’s 49erFX teams competing in a Trans-Tasman clash from 17-19 August.

The series, affectionately dubbed the ‘Wetisloe Cup’, will see a total of 13 skiff teams representing both sides of the Tasman battle it out in what is officially the Palm Beach Motor Yachts Trans-Tasman 49er Series. Racing will take place daily from 4pm off the iconic Hamilton Island Yacht Club at the completion of the main fleet’s scheduled racing, allowing skippers, crews, and island spectators to enjoy a thrilling front-row seat.

🎥 🎤 Cannot wait to bring you all the action both on the island, and for those who won’t get to be part of the 40th celebrations 🙌🏻⛵️

🙌🏻 Happy Olympic Day 🙌🏻
⛵️🎤 I’ve been lucky enough to experience two Games behind-the-scenes as the on-site commentator, host and Victory Ceremony Announcer for sailing at both Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 🙏🏻

Fun facts;
• I worked for the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority as the Communications Officer to help educate athletes leading into London (and across wider sport)
• London 2012 and the success of the Aussies is what spurred the creation of my own business - so in many ways I owe my path to the Games despite not competing as an athlete 🩵

So, even though I didn’t qualify for Beijing or London myself, my childhood obsession with seeing athletes push themselves for their country has definitely continued and I am so grateful to be a part of so many Olympic journeys, with and without medals 🥇🫶🏻

Here’s hoping I can be a part of many more Games, and hopefully see sailing back in the Paralympics as well, come Brisbane 2032 🫶🏻

Was brilliant to take part in the Coral Sea Marina Mingle and a trip to InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef to experience their new day berthing options. It was a busy add on to the end of last week on my return from the New Caledonia Groupama Race!
I flew in and out of Hamilton Island - and checked in on the 40th Hamilton Island Race Week! CANNOT WAIT to be back in the Whitsundays for the better part of August! 👏🏻🩵
