CAUSE OF AROK THON's DEATH😭😭

In 1998, a plane left Khartoum heading to Malakal and then Bor. On board were CDR Arok Thon Arok and the Vice President of Sudan at that time, Gen. Muhammad Salah Zubier. While in the air, a serious argument broke out between them. The disagreement was about a plan by the Sudanese government (NIF) to build concentration camps across South Sudan. These camps were meant to block the SPLM/A from getting support and supplies. Gen. Zubier asked CDR Arok to begin this plan in Bor, his hometown. CDR Arok strongly refused, and the argument became violent.

It is reported that CDR Arok shot Gen. Zubier in the head during the fight. In return, Gen. Zubier’s bodyguards shot and killed CDR Arok. The pilot was also hit in the chaos, and the plane lost control and crashed. Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin, who was sitting at the back of the plane, was the only survivor. He was later found unconscious in the wreckage near the Sobat River in Upper Nile. Dr. Lam wrote about the incident in his book.

The photo below is of the late CDR Arok Thon Arok. Even though he faced many political challenges, including being jailed in 1987, he stayed loyal to the cause of South Sudan’s freedom. He remained committed to the SPLM/A’s goals until his last breath on that tragic flight. CDR Arok is remembered as one of the founding fathers of our nation. May he rest in eternal peace.

HISTORY can not be FORGED or REPLACED.

1. MALEK remains as the first historical place where the Word of God started in 1905 in the history of the Anglican Church of South Sudan.

2. John Aruor Thoor was the first Christian to be baptized in 1916.

3. Bishop Deng Atong was the first Anglican Bishop of Sudan.

By January 2026, Malek will be 121 years old.

Some TEACHERS of FALSE have shifted their focus to YAMBIO, which was later founded in 1938 as the first historical place to suit their egoism denying BOR as the Historical place of Christianity.

BE AWARE of such teachings.

BOR is the beginning of everything. Everyone will try to erase or hide anything holding BOR's Name. However, they will not succeed.

BorDA
(A Poem for the Sons and Daughters of Bor)

BorDA, your name echoes wide,
Rooted deep where rivers glide.
From Juba’s bend to Bor’s plain,
You rise with hope through joy and pain.

Born of cattle, land, and lore,
You carry wisdom from before.
Ears to elders, eyes on dawn,
Your path is built, your soul is drawn.

You wear the scars of battles past,
But hold the dream that peace will last.
With hearts of fire and voices bold,
You turn the future into gold.

When Bor speaks, the nation hears.
In your strength, dissolve our fears.
A people forged in storm and flame,
BorDA — forever proud your name.

In unity, your spirit flies,
Like cranes across South Sudan’s skies.
Builders, thinkers, brave and true,
The dawn of Bor begins with you.

🕊️ Justice Delayed, But Not Denied:

Amat Malual Bulkuei and the Conscience of a Nation

First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you who shared my previous post about the forgotten heroes of South Sudan. I am especially grateful to the many intellectuals, writers, activists, soldiers, mothers, youth, and community leaders who amplified this message. Your shares, comments, and private messages have shown that Amat Malual Bulkuei’s name still lives in the hearts of our people.

It is not easy to write about betrayal and loss, especially when so many wounds remain open. But when I saw how far and wide the message traveled—shared by nearly every intellectual I know, picked up by respected media outlets, and discussed across communities from Rumbek to Bor, from Juba to Melbourne—I realized that this was no longer just my story. It is our story. A story of dignity, remembrance, and national conscience.

Your voices have made one thing clear: South Sudan is ready to remember its unsung heroes.
And we will not stop until their sacrifices are honored.

Why I Chose to Speak About Amat Malual Bulkuei

Last week, I chose to speak about Amat Malual Bulkuei, a man who stood quietly behind the spotlight, but whose silent bravery helped shape the freedom we all enjoy today.

I want to be honest with you all:
I didn’t ask Amat's wife about her pain.
I didn’t interview his children before writing.
I didn’t reach out to his family.

I didn’t have to.

Because I have been observing this reality for a long time—not just about Amat, but about many families of the martyrs of South Sudan. And one thing struck me painfully: almost every other family of prominent freedom fighters has been considered, honored, or remembered.

The family of Dr. John Garang de Mabior has been embraced at the highest level. His wife, Rebecca Nyandeng, is now a Vice President for gender cluster of the Republic.

The family of Karbino Kuanyin Bol, received some form of recognition and that's why you are seeing Bol Abuk.

Many others from various regions have had homes, support, memorials, and state visits.

But Amat Malual Bulkuei?
The right-hand protector of Dr. Garang?
The man I personally saw standing beside the Commander-in-Chief with unwavering discipline when I was just a young boy in Dhaikuei?
The man who died in the same crash that took Garang's life?

No one speaks his name.
No public monument bears his image.
No official recognition is recorded.
And his family, especially his wife and children, remain neglected—living in hardship in Australia.

A Letter That Should Reach the President

Yesterday, I read something that moved me deeply.
A young man by the name of Abram Maluer Marial , a student and graduate of Juba University, wrote a powerful open letter to H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

In it, he called for justice.
He called for dignity.
He called for recognition.
He wrote, not for personal gain, but for the conscience of our Republic.

He reminded the President—and all of us—that Amat was there in 1983, firing shots with Dr. Garang in Torit, as the SPLA/M was born.

He reminded us that Amat didn’t just serve Garang. He protected a vision. He carried a nation on his back without ever asking for reward.

He reminded us that Dr. Garang was mourned, remembered, and his family protected—but Amat's widow and children are still waiting for justice.

And he asked the President:

> If we can take care of the family of the leader, why not also the family of the man who shielded that leader from death until death finally took them both together?

Let that letter reach the heart of the presidency and I believe that the Office of the President - Republic of South Sudan will deliver this message.
Let it reach the ears of the Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Vice Presidents, the Chief of General Staff, and the Legislative Assembly.

Let no leader say they “did not know.” Now, they do.

Let’s Talk About Mama Rebecca Nyandeng

It is not betrayal to speak the truth.
It is betrayal not to.

Mama Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior—you know what it means to lose a husband in service to this nation.
You know what it means to raise children alone.
You were celebrated, as you should be. You were honored with state protection and appointment. You rose to become a Vice President—in charge of Gender and Youth, no less.

But if the government forgot Amat’s widow—should you have forgotten her too?

This is not an accusation. This is a moral appeal.
Your husband was protected by Amat Malual, who died with him on July 30, 2005.
His wife— Victoria Yar Isaac —has raised their children in silence, with strength, and in poverty.

She did not ask for a house.
She did not ask for riches.
She only asked for dignity—for her children to live in the country their father died to create.

Isn’t that a cause worth remembering?

A Country Failing Its Guardians

What kind of country builds a flag, but forgets the hands that carried it through the storm?

When I met Amat in Dhaikuei, I was just a boy. He stood beside Garang like a statue of vigilance. He didn’t even greet his own people—because he was on duty. Focused. Guarding. Loyal.

That image stayed with me forever.
Now I ask:
What did he get in return?

He was buried quietly. Not even at the Heroes Cemetery in Juba.
His name is hardly mentioned in the official history.
And his children are growing up fatherless, nationless, honorless.

The Call for Memory

Today, voices are rising to correct this injustice:

Peter Thuch , a renowned “Lost Boy” and writer, called for memorials to be built in honor of Amat and others like Deng Majok Kuany and Jima-Mayen Deng—who also died in the crash.

Wen Bol Mangar mourned the tribal politics that silence "Garang boys" in today’s South Sudan.

Chol Ezra Majok praised Amat’s valor as a "revolutionary icon."

Nyanadong Gor , Amat’s cousin, shared a touching story of Amat giving her $100 as a blessing before she left for Australia. She received the news of his death only three days after arrival.

They remind us:
We remember. We mourn. And we demand justice—not as enemies of the state, but as caretakers of its soul.

Finally: Eden May Be Betrayed, But It Can Still Bloom

My book, “Eden Betrayed: South Sudan’s Neglected Garden of Promise,” is not just a collection of pain—it is also a call to heal.

I dedicated a full chapter to unsung heroes like Amat Malual Bulkuei.

Not because they are forgotten.
But because we must not allow them to be.

Let us write history not with silence, but with justice.
Let us teach our children not just about Garang, but about those who stood beside him.
Let us build not just roads and buildings, but a culture of gratitude and remembrance.

Only then can this neglected garden bloom again..

“Breaking news.

It's confirmed today.

Detained South Sudanese Petroleum Minister, Hon. Eng. Puot Kang Chuol developed deadly signs of acute illness in Blue House Prison Underground

Sources within the National Security Service, both the Internal Security Bureau and the General Intelligence Bureau, have expressed a great concern over the deteriorating health of Minister Puot. Speaking to some politicians, members of NSS warned that Puot may die in the detention facility if nothing is done within a short period of time and if he is not given proper medical attention as his situation requires.

The source revealed that Kang is not opening up to the prison administration and the medical team assigned to the prison. He has been met numerous times and asked by NSS doctors if he has a chronic illness or diseases to be reported to the high-ranking officials for perusal and approval for treatment in any medical facilities within Juba, but Kang refused to open up. Others believe he is afraid of any malicious actions against his precious life if he disclosed the nature of the health problems he has.

Few people among former personnel of the prison are arguing that Kang has developed a secret plan to die in the NSS detention facility to add more death records and international implications on the Blue House and the entire government of South Sudan. It is feared he is on a silent strike to end his life to enter the history book of martyrs because he knows a rogue regime can't be entertained to have concerns over the people he falsely accused and arrested. It seems Puot sees no logic in opening up to the people he knows are nothing but bodies used to terrorise the public on the pretext of national security, but when indeed it is nothing short of keeping the status quo”.

🕊️ A Son of the Soil, Forgotten Too Soon — Remembering Amat Malual Bulkuei 🇸🇸

In every great story of liberation, there are men who stood in the light — and men who stood behind it, holding the line with silent courage. One of those unsung warriors was Amat Malual Bulkuei.

He wasn’t just a bodyguard to Dr. John Garang de Mabior — he was a protector of vision. A walking shield. A man who stood where bullets could fly, who kept South Sudan’s dream alive not with speeches, but with sacrifice.

In July 2005, when the helicopter crash ended the life of Dr. Garang, Amat was right there. He did not flinch. He did not abandon. He died as he lived — in loyal service to a dream bigger than himself.

But while Garang was mourned as a father of the nation, Amat was barely remembered. His name faded from headlines. His children grew up without a national embrace. His family — the very people who paid the price of freedom — remained outside the country their father helped bring into existence.

Let me be clear: his family should have been given a house, a national honor, a foundation in his name. His children should have been raised under a roof built by gratitude, not forgotten in exile. They should have been living in South Sudan, near the soil where their father’s blood rests — not wandering outside the country looking for dignity.

And while many in power stayed silent, one person’s silence cut deeper than most — Madam Rebecca Nyandeng, the widow of Dr. Garang and now Vice President of the Republic. She has tasted the fruits of our independence. She sits in high office — rightly honored. But if anyone had the moral duty to remember Amat’s widow, it was her. She should have stood for the woman who stood beside her husband’s protector.

But silence reigned.

What kind of country builds a flag but forgets the hands that carried it through the storm?

📝 In my upcoming book, Eden Betrayed: South Sudan’s Neglected Garden of Promise, I dedicate a full chapter for all unsung heroes and Amat Malual Bulkuei is in the top headline— not just as a fallen hero, but as a symbol of our national failure to honor those who gave everything. This book is not only about betrayal from outsiders — it’s about betrayal from within. From our leaders. From our institutions. From us.

We cannot build a future if we erase the sacrifices of the past. We must remember Amat. We must honor his children. We must uplift his widow. We must redeem our silence with action.

Amat did not fall for a tribe. He did not serve for a salary. He served for South Sudan. And South Sudan must now serve his memory.

📢 Let there be houses for the families of our martyrs. Let there be streets named after the brave. Let there be education for their children. Let there be truth.

🕯️ Amat Malual Bulkuei — Guardian of Freedom. Son of the Soil. Voice in Silence. Spirit that still watches over us.

25/06/2025

Statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening:
"Dear citizens of Israel,
In the 12 days of Operation Rising Lion, we achieved a historic victory, which will stand for generations.

We removed two existential threats: The threat of annihilation by nuclear weapons and the threat of annihilation by 20,000 ballistic missiles. Had we not acted now, the State of Israel would have soon faced the danger of annihilation.

But this did not happen because at the decisive moment, we rose up and stood like lions, and our roar shook Tehran and echoed around the world.

In the scriptures, it is said: 'By stratagems shall you make war.'

The surprise opening blow of Rising Lion will go down in the annals of Israel's wars and will be studied by every military in the world. In one strike, in one blow, we eliminated Iran's senior command, including three chiefs-of-staff and many other senior officers. And in those same moments, we eliminated Iran's leading nuclear scientists – those who held the knowledge, led the nuclear program and sought to bring upon us destruction and death.

We destroyed the main enrichment facility in Natanz, the uranium conversion plant in Isfahan and the heavy water installation in Arak. Our friend, President Trump, stood alongside us in an unprecedented manner. On his order, the US military destroyed the enrichment facility deep underground at Fordo.

We attacked dozens of installations of the Iranian nuclear program, including laboratories and factories for producing centrifuges. You certainly remember seven years ago, how in a brilliant Mossad operation, we brought to Israel the heart of Iran's secret nuclear archive. We revealed Iran's secret nuclear program for the annihilation of the State of Israel to President Trump, to the entire world and to you, citizens of Israel.

Indeed, today, now, in this operation, we completed the work and struck the entire archive. This archive concentrated within it Iran's overall knowledge for producing atomic bombs. We also did this.

For decades, I have promised you that Iran would not have nuclear weapons. And indeed, in all of the swift actions that our soldiers carried out, we sent Iran's nuclear project to oblivion. And if anyone in Iran tries to rebuild this project – we will act with the same determination and the same force to cut off any such attempt. I reiterate: Iran will not have nuclear weapons.

With the same force and determination, we destroyed Iran's industry for producing ballistic missiles. We destroyed dozens of missile production factories. We struck hard at their stock of missiles. We destroyed most of their launchers. In many cases, we destroyed them minutes before they could launch their missiles of death at Israel. Iran's malicious intention, to threaten – within a few years – the existence of Israel with tens of thousands of ballistic missiles – this threat has also been removed.

Regarding the Iranian regime, we struck crushing blows at this wicked regime. We eliminated many senior commanders. We destroyed command centers. We attacked Revolutionary Guards bases. We attacked Basij bases. We struck the symbols of the regime. Today, this morning, a few hours before the ceasefire, we struck the ayatollahs' regime with the hardest blow of all since the start of the war, with the hardest blow in its history. We eliminated hundreds of regime operatives in a crushing attack, the most crushing that Tehran has seen in the past 50 years.

Citizens of Israel, on your behalf, I thank my friend, President Trump, and the US, for their part in defending Israel and in removing the Iranian nuclear threat. The US decision to join the campaign, not only on the defensive side, but also on the offensive side, was historic. It has never happened before. This was the fruit of a diplomatic effort that I led, together with Minister Dermer, with President Trump and his team. I must tell you Israel has never had as great a friend in the White House, and I thank him very much for the joint work. It has major implications for Israel's national security, for the security of each and every one of you, and for your children and grand-children, and for the face of the Middle East.

Citizens of Israel, on October 7, we were in the abyss. We suffered the worst disaster in the history of the state. But thanks to the joint forces of the Government, the security services and you, the people, we recovered and returned fire. Approximately 20 months later, we took control of the skies over Iran and exacted an unprecedented price, which it never imagined it would have to pay.

And yet, despite our tremendous achievements, we are not riding the waves of euphoria. We are neither overconfident nor complacent – the opposite in fact. We have no intention of taking our foot off the pedal. We must complete the campaign against the Iranian axis, defeat Hamas and bring about the release of all our hostages, both the living and the deceased.

To the families of the hostages, I say: We have not ceased for a moment, even a single one, including during this war, from our efforts to return home all of our hostages. Again: Both the living and the deceased. And we will not relent from this sacred mission until it is complete.

And to the bereaved families, I say: Your dear ones, our heroes, did not fall in vain – because it is their heroism and sacrifice that made it possible to dismantle the Iranian axis. Without the immense achievements in Gaza, in Lebanon, in Syria, and against the terrorism in Judea and Samaria, we would not have been able to reach Tehran.

With the destruction of the Iranian axis of evil, we will open a path of peace and prosperity for the nations of the region, and I say to you, even beyond the nations of the region. We are already working on that, vigorously, and the time will also come to reveal our activity. We will compensate, with a generous hand, everyone who has suffered damages, and bring the Israeli economy to new heights. This is already happening.

Citizens of Israel,
We have paid heavy prices on the home front during this operation. We embrace the families of the fallen with infinite love. We all wish a full recovery to all who were injured, in body and soul, as we do for all those injured in this campaign since October 7.

In recent days, I have visited several of the cities that suffered considerable destruction by Iranian missiles. Many homes were damaged, and as I promised the residents, we will build them anew.

Citizens of Israel,
I wish to express, on your behalf, the deepest gratitude to IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir; to the commanders and the fighters of the IDF; to Mossad Director David Barnea and the fighters of the Mossad; to Air Force Commander Maj.-Gen. Tomer Bar; to our brave combat pilots – what a wonderful job they have done; to the dedicated technical ground crews; to the Director of Military Intelligence, Maj.-Gen. Shlomi Binder and the intelligence personnel, who revealed the enemy’s secrets with amazing creativity; to the Director of the Operations Directorate, Maj.-Gen. Oded Basyuk, for driving the campaign; to my Military Secretary, Maj.-Gen. Roman Gofman; to the Home Front Command; to the Israeli Police; to the fire, medical and rescue Services, who have saved many lives.

And naturally, I wish to express gratitude to Defense Minister Israel Katz, and all of the government ministers. They all stood jointly behind the historic decision, and acted, each in their own purview. Each and every one of them rose to the occasion.

And beyond all that, I wish to express gratitude to you, citizens of Israel. This is a moment of national pride, a moment of unity, a moment when every citizen in Israel can stand proudly and say: Together we did the unimaginable.

The nation rose as a lion. Am Israel Chai ['the People of Israel live']. And with G-d’s help – the eternal people will ensure the eternity of Israel."

Israel Prime Minister!
