For our second production, the spotlight is on YOU and your prop is... an empty canvas of endless possibilities. Grab the feathered quill and pour your heart out. Explore anything and everything you know or experiment with something new.

As 80.1 was being planned, the Editors voiced their concerns about the lack of on-screen romaniticisation of the City of Naarm compared to the likes of metropolitans such as New York, London and Paris in mainstream media.

It would have remained a matter of solicitude if it wasn't for our friends at In Review () who stepped in to resolve our concerns. In Review's in-house film critic, Olivia Jones sheds light on cinema that embodies our beloved city.

ABOUT IN REVIEW
In Review provides honest and independent reviews and features on local and international content, from new and emerging writers of RMITV. RMITV is a student-run organisation that produces content for both online and broadcast platforms, and provides hand-on experience to RMIT students and members of the local community, acting as a gateway between studying and finding work in the industry.

Catalyst acknowledges the above mentioned suburbs as part of the Traditional lands of its rightful owners, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people.

"The situation in 'Past Lives' would put many a Gen Z into a coma, I am sure, but perhaps it was why the film was such a hit amongst audiences, constantly plagued by the endless possibilities for their lives, the inherent romanticism of our intertwined relationships and the ‘what if,’ just like our main characters."

Fernandes untangles the philosophy of Celine Song ( )'s acclaimed directorial debut starring Greta Lee, Teo Yoo () and John Magaro (), from a generational perspective at the link in bio.

Issue 3: ✨Controversy✨

noun: controversy; plural noun: controversies

prolonged public disagreement or heated discussion.

It is opposing views, that conflict one another.

What conspiracies do you believe?
What's something you could never say out loud?
What do you want people to understand?

Do you think the Earth is flat?
The moon landing was fake?
We are living in a simulation?
Deaths were faked?
Or that someone is in fact not real?

Issue 1: ✨Pleasure✨

Our first edition of Catalyst for the year is about pleasure 🍑🍒🍌

What is "pleasure"
Pleasure is defined by a feeling of happy satisfaction and enjoyment, used or intended for entertainment rather than business, and to give sexual enjoyment or satisfaction to.

It is very sensual and intimate to talk about, but that's why we want to share. To bring the most intimate parts of ourselves to light an celebrate them!

For each individual this topic may ring differently, and that's ok! We want to celebrate these differences and continue to learn how to pleasure ourselves.

We want to hear YOUR STORIES, and to see YOUR ART and interpretations of the theme!

Spend some time on your holidays exploring pleasure!

Submissions close 14th of Jan!!
