A Yeppoon woman is popping the champagne this week to celebrate a surprise $53,000 Keno win and the heartwarming arrival of another grandchild.

The Capricorn Coast resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 280, drawn 31 July 2025.

She can look forward to a magnificent $53,392.30.

“This is great! So awesome!” she laughed when an official from Keno confirmed the winning news.

With desperate defence and a final killer blow, Emu Park saw off their local rivals Yeppoon in a personal battle at Webb Park.

The Emus drew first blood in the Rockhampton Rugby League A Grade finals series with an incredibly high-quality duel on Saturday night.

Emu Park took down the Seagulls 26-20, with a crucial try from Jake Lawton sealing the win with minutes left on the clock.
