At twelve years old, the unknown ''trashy'' kid was scheduled on a Tupelo radio station for two on-air performances on Mississippi Slim's Show. The boy was overcome by stage fright the first time, but succeeded in performing the following week with his child sized guitar.

Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935 who received no formal music training and could not read music, studied and played by ear. He also frequented record stores that provided jukeboxes fulfilling his love of music.

Eddie Bond allowed Elvis to audition in May of 1954 as he had an opening for a vocalist. Bond rejected him after a tryout, advising Presley to stick to truck driving "because you're never going to make it as a singer"

After attending gospel shows in the segregated south learning all he could yet failing to make his mark, the young man would be noticed at just 19 years of age with his version of That's All Right when played by DJ Dewey Phillips on his radio show.

At the age of 21, within a year of his first appearance on American network television, he was regarded as one of the most famous people in the world but that same length of time saw ''The King'' dead today August 16 1977.

I've been concise in my words as we all have our own feelings to the great man many of us enjoyed growing up, he was always in the background on the radio and TV.

Legendary Australian singer and actress Olivia Newton-John has tragically passed away after a long battle with cancer.
The 73-year-old reportedly died in the early hours of this morning (Australian time) peacefully at her ranch in Southern California.
Her husband John Easterling, confirmed the news in a post to social media, saying that Olivia was "a symbol of triumps and hope".
Olivia also leaves behind her 34-year-old daughter Chloe Lattanzi.

“Let’s talk Family Matters” is a community radio program (on IPL Radio) that aims to provide information on all matters related to you and your family. Our station located in Rockingham broadcasts all over Australia, America, and the UK. I am looking for families who want to share their stories (you can be anonymous) by sharing your experiences you will empower other families. If you are an expert in any field related to families, please feel free to contact me to discuss a time slot for you to join me on Family Matters. We will have a talkback time when callers can call in and talk to our guests. Plus, we have our happy hour every Tuesday from 5 to 6 during which time I play feel good music.

*Our Adults Only Pod cast will be out soon and expect it to be very interesting as anonymous guests share their stories - where life can be stranger than fiction! The good, the bad, the funny, the sad and the sometimes unbelievable. Program airs every Tuesday from 3pm to 6pm(WST).
