I (Mill-ay) will be DJing this Friday the 7th Burlington Hotel Bunbury for chase the ace from 5-8pm and This Saturday 11pm-1am Indi bar. I’ve just become a resident DJ at The Burlington over the past month or so, and would love to see new faces come check out my sets! I’m an open format DJ meaning I play to the crowd, I read the room and intentionally build the atmosphere. I’m obsessive about finding tracks that work for mixed crowds. It’s not the same old same old, I have literally thousands of tracks on my usbs and weed out anything but the best ones that get people dancing. Would love to see your faces come down to support this new era at the Burly! X

This is Marama! Marama is a vibe. From the first time I met her I knew I wanted to work with her. Women supporting women (especially mums) is something I feel passionately about. Just listening to some new tracks I’ve been downloading today, while getting ready for my set at The Burlington Hotel tonight. I feel this! The one thing in this world that I can do for hours on end even (or especially) when I’m tired is downloading and categorising music! Since I was a teenager I always had thousands and thousands of downloaded track on computers, laptops and usbs/ hard drives. Twice in my life during transitional times I’ve deleted all my music to start the process again- and later regretted it! But always managed to rebuild library’s and playlists of music which are honestly arguably too big. But the categorisation of tracks and systems for adding cues points etc gets better each time. At this point in my life I am excited with developing my latest system. (Many people don’t know that a large part of DJing is preparation) This is going to improve my ability to move between the decades, genres and energy level of tracks even better. And give me even more ability to customise the music quicker and smoother in real time to match the needs of the dancefloor. Watch this space. I have the vision to create a physical interactive aid for the dancefloor to increase the dancefloors choice over the music parameter! And once the system is mastered I will be teaching it to my DJ crew. Watch this space!
