🚢 SHIP SUNK OFF MARINO CREATING A NEW DIVE SITE 🐠

Here’s footage as a 40-metre dredger was deliberately sunk around 1pm Monday 7th September off the coast of Marino.

The ship will be turned into an artificial reef and “will help with the restoration of marine life, while also creating a major drawcard for recreational divers.”

The initiative has been funded as part of the Australian and South Australian government’s $165 million investment in algal bloom response and recovery measures.

Monday 7th September - The MV Andrew Wilson is currently being sunk six kilometres off Marino to become Adelaide’s newest artificial reef.

🚧 If you're driving through that area between 7–11 September, expect to see temporary speed and lane restrictions in place.
