One of Australia’s most experienced and respected sea kayakers.

Join us for the next Adelaide Canoe Club General Meeting, featuring a special guest presentation by Dave Winkworth.

Dave will share incredible stories from decades of paddling adventures across Australia and New Zealand, including near misses, crocodile encounters, and the mystery behind his talk’s title: “Please Remain Seated for the Entire Performance!”

About Dave Winkworth:
Dave began paddling as a boy and built his own kayaks to reach fishing spots — until he realised paddling was the real thrill! He’s a life member of the NSW Sea Kayak Club, founder of the legendary Rock ’n Roll Weekends, and a former Paddle Australia Senior Sea Instructor and Assessor.

Dave designed the iconic Nadgee sea kayak, still produced today by Expedition Kayaks, and continues to design and build new equipment from his home on the NSW South Coast.

He’s paddled extensively across Australia and New Zealand, and even received a Bravery Medal for saving a mate’s life during a crocodile attack on a Cape York expedition.

After the talk, all members and visitors are warmly invited to stay for dinner and good company.

All welcome! You don’t need to be a club member to attend.
