Failure isn’t a dirty word, never be ashamed for trying something new, for learning and growing. Change the way you think and speak about failure, practise celebrating your failures along with your successes. It doesn’t matter that you can’t play like yet, it doesn’t matter that you can’t sing like yet, it doesn’t matter that your song didn’t go viral like yet, keep going , keep trying!
You are going to get the life you want, you are going to create the music and art that changes peoples lives as long as you keep going!

Before you take your song to its final stage make sure you test your mix on several if not all the below systems to ensure your mix translates well on the different mediums that an audience will receive and listen to your song on.
If you’ve tested it on all of these and it’s sounding good you know your in the ball park. 🤙🏼

People are going to tell you there are rules to making music, fact is this is a lie, there are no rules, sure there are a bunch of other peoples opinions, there’s social expectations or ways things have been done for a really long time but there is nothing stoping you from doing something entirely different and making the world make space for you.

The evening will see premieres of new music videos by some of the hottest Australian talents, an ‘In Conversation’ discussion and Q+As with the filmmakers and artists themselves, as well as the premiere of restored 1980’s classic music videos by legendary filmmaker Ray Argall.

These classic clips featuring Midnight Oil, the Split Enz and the Hoodoo Gurus have been restored and remastered with digital-quality sound to give the audience an opportunity to experience them in a way no one has ever been able to before.

Legends at The Push are looking for 15 music tastemakers aged 15 - 17 to join their all-ages events team to roll out "15 Years of triple j Unearthed High” as part of Vivid in June 2023.

Participants will get a five-week training program, with access to hands-on experience across a range of areas including stage management, technical and sound production, promotions and marketing, video production, photography, artist liaison and bookings.

Most musicians may have heard of these figures or know them, but keep in mind the rights holder of a song (ie the people who may get a cut of your royalties are the publisher, songwriter, master recording owners, the artist and a label is signed).
Knowing how you can generate money from your music is important, streams are only one, but when it comes to streams and splits it’s important to know what those figures are and we’re they’re going, down to the cents. Take pride in knowing your business (you the artist , yes your a business) and everything about it, only then can you grow.
