Fel & Fulch

Fel & Fulch Wild adventures chasing freedom, sunsets, creativity & a little bit of peace.

We’re Flick & Dave, two slightly feral, coffee-fuelled humans who decided life’s too short to wait for “one day.” So, we’re prepping to pack it all up and head off on our next big adventure: life on the road, chasing the kind of freedom you can’t find chained to the grind. This page is our digital campfire; part blog, part vlog, part beautiful chaotic us, and when we hit the road it will be all ab

out our travel and life as nomads. You’ll find our travel plans, downsizing stories, honest life updates, occasional deep thoughts, and probably a few too many “we nearly divorced over this set up” moments. We’re not influencers, we’re just us, figuring it out as we go, laughing through the mess, and sharing the real parts most people edit out. So pull up a chair, grab a cuppa (or something stronger), and join us as we plan, dream, and maybe accidentally set off the smoke alarm trying to cook in the van. Because this isn’t a polished highlight reel, it’s the next chapter of our story… and it’s going to be one hell of a ride. 🚐✨

I got to see my boy today for the first time in what feels like forever… and for the first time ever, I got to see him in his dress uniform. 🥹❤️

And I really wasn’t prepared for what that would do to this mumma’s heart.

There he was, all grown up, standing in front of me looking so incredibly handsome and professional… but somehow I could still see my little boy in there too. The one I’ve watched grow, stumble, learn, find his feet and become the man standing in front of me today.

We’re incredibly proud of our military kids and the commitment they make, but yesterday I wasn’t thinking about uniforms, titles or service.

I was just looking at my son.

My beautiful boy, who I’ve missed more than I can put into words.

And goodness, was it good to have him close enough to hug again. ❤️

So proud of you, kiddo. Not because of the uniform, but because of the man wearing it. 🥹❤️

It’s taken 45 years but I have finally settled on a favourite colour… Orange! I definitely think it’s my colour, well I hope it is because I’ve committed 🤣

And this is how you get some family angst out… 😂🎨

Forget family therapy. We just handed everyone paint and said, “Righto, sort your s**t out.”

Apparently nothing says healthy communication quite like absolutely pelting your loved ones with colour.

Grudges? Released.
Sibling rivalry? Addressed.
Marital irritation? Dave copped that one personally. 😂
Children traumatised? Never… This is character building.

10/10. Would recommend.
Cheaper than therapy and you get photographic evidence of exactly who everyone was aiming at. 🤣

The family that throws paint together, stays together.

…mostly because we’re all too exhausted to keep fighting afterwards. 😂

Flash back to when we were responsible for keeping 7 humans alive…

I love how university says no to using AI for assignments, yet present you with AI created content for learning and assignments. I just watched AI videos that I have to audit... Also some have used AI to mark our work!

I’m not saying we should use AI, but if we’re doing the hard yards, they should have to as well!

So apparently I made a terrible parenting mistake…

I raised my kids to be strong, capable and independent.

I taught them to back themselves, chase their goals, make their own decisions, work hard, figure things out and know that they are perfectly capable of building a life for themselves.

And now they’re actually doing it.
Rude. 😂

My daughter is currently doing a little test run of living out of home, and I have suddenly realised that perhaps I did my job a little too well.

Because this was always the goal, wasn’t it?
Raise them so they don’t need you.
Raise them to be brave enough to leave the nest.
Raise them to know they can go out into the world and create a life that is entirely their own.

And I am SO proud of her.
I’m proud of all of them.

But there is this strange little ache that comes with watching the people you have built your whole world around start building worlds of their own.

One by one, they’re growing up. Making plans. Chasing dreams. Talking about moving out, careers, travel, relationships and futures that don’t necessarily happen under my roof.

Which is exactly what I wanted for them.
I just apparently failed to consider one tiny detail…
THEY WOULD ACTUALLY LEAVE ME. 🤣😭

Parenthood is such a scam.

You spend years teaching these tiny humans how to walk away from you, then stand at the door going,
“LOOK AT YOU GO! I’M SO PROUD!” while internally screaming, “COME BACK HERE IMMEDIATELY, I HAVE SNACKS.” So yes, I did my job.

They are strong.
They are independent.
They are capable.
They have dreams bigger than this house.

And I am ridiculously proud.

But I would also like to formally lodge a complaint about the consequences of successful parenting.

Because apparently raising them to fly means eventually having to watch them use their bloody wings. 🥹❤️

📸 back when they both needed me.

You know it’s going to be an interesting day when you go for your first wee break at work and discover your pants are on backwards… Backwards! And I didn’t know until now.

Bathroom selfie celebrations!

21cm gone.
17kg gone.
But somehow, those aren’t even the biggest wins. 🥹❤️

Since December, I’ve lost 17kg and a total of 21cm from my body, and I am SO bloody proud of myself.

When I started a GLP-1, I genuinely thought weight loss would suddenly become “easy”. Spoiler: it didn’t 😂

I still have to count my calories.
I still have to make conscious choices.
I still have to exercise.
I still have to get up on the days I’d rather not.
I still have to put the work in.

For me, the medication has never been some magical shortcut. It’s been a supportive tool that has helped my body work with me enough that I can start living again.

And THAT is the part I want to celebrate.

I remember the first time I exercised again after being so limited by chronic illness. I was ridiculously excited… but underneath that excitement was so much apprehension.

What if I faint?
What if I can’t finish?
What if I trigger a flare?
Should I stay close to home just in case?
Do I have enough energy to get myself back again?

Every little adventure came with a mental emergency-management plan attached to it.

Now? I GET UP AND GO. 🥹

I don’t spend half an hour negotiating with my nervous system first. I don’t automatically plan my life around the possibility of fainting. I don’t immediately think, “better stay close to home.”

I just… live.

I exercise.
I go places.
I push myself.
I trust my body a little more.

And I realised something recently…

I HAVEN’T FULLY FAINTED IN SO LONG THAT I CAN’T EVEN REMEMBER THE LAST TIME!!! 🎉🎉🎉

There have been a few “oop, the lights are flickering” moments 😂 but no full dramatic floor performances.

And that, to me, is worth more than any number on a scale.

17kg is incredible.
21cm is incredible.

But getting pieces of my life back?
Being able to move without fear?
Making plans based on what I WANT to do instead of what my body might allow me to do?

That’s the real transformation.

I’m not trying to become smaller.
I’m trying to make my life bigger.
And bloody hell… it’s working. ❤️

Here’s to strong bodies, tiny victories that turn into enormous ones, and saying YES to life again. 🥂✨
