We talk a lot about what affects our skin.
Hormones. Ageing. Sun exposure. Skincare.
But there’s another side of skin health that I don’t think we talk about nearly enough.
Chronic pain. Mental health. Medication. Stress. Weight changes. Months of poor sleep.
And sometimes, simply not having anything left in the tank to care about your skin at all.
I’ve heard women sit in my treatment room and say, “I know, I’ve really let myself go.”
And I wish we’d stop saying that about ourselves.
Sometimes the skincare routine disappeared because getting through the day was the priority.
Sometimes your body changed.
Sometimes medication changed things.
Sometimes sleep became almost non-existent.
Sometimes life was just… a lot.
Your skin doesn’t exist separately from the person living in it.
This is something that’s very close to me, both professionally and personally, and it’s a conversation I want to start having more openly here.
Over the coming weeks, I’m going to talk more about the connection between our skin and things like stress, sleep, chronic pain, mental health and medication — and eventually, I’ll share a little more of my own story and why this became part of the reason Timeless Glow exists.
But for today, I want you to know this:
You never need to apologise for your skin when you walk through my door.
No judgement. No embarrassment. No “I should have looked after it better.”
We just start where you are. 🤍
