A 100-acre luxury accommodation estate in Hunter Valley wine country has hit the market for the first time.

The Beltree, at 266 Hermitage Road in Belford, is being marketed by Samantha Sargent and Tyson Nicholson of McGrath Maitland.

It has a price guide of $3 million.

The 100-acre property has five pet-friendly glamping tents.

This winter the three recipients of the op shop's hard working volunteer-run centre were Singleton Hospital Auxiliary, Ourcare and the Glendon School of Arts Hall.

In a major win for Muswellbrook Shire Council the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has granted council a Special Rate Variation (SRV) of 25.9 per cent to be applied exclusively to the mining rate category.
The SRV for mining rates will generate about $6 million in additional revenue for the Shire in 2026-27.

Three Singleton councillors have signed a rescission motion to remove all but the land adjacent to the hospital from proposals to develop new homes in the downtown Singleton. That means all three parks Victoria Sqaure , Albion and Cranston parks would not be used for housing development if the motion is agreed to at the next council meeting.

Almost seven years to the day vandals have once again damaged headstones and graves at Singleton's Sedgefield Cemetery.
In late May 2019, 36 gravestones were desecrated at the cemetery and now police have reported that sometime between 11am on Tuesday, May 26 and the following day, Wednesday, May 27 unknown persons have damaged seven headstones on graves at the cemetery. Some headstones were smashed, making them beyond repair.

A COUNTRYLINK train became a moving hostage situation in the Upper Hunter after a dispute between a couple escalated into a horrific domestic violence attack that left a woman with multiple stab wounds and passengers and staff trapped in a confined carriage with a knife-wielding man.
