ജാക്കറേണ്ട ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ 2024 ഗ്രാഫട്ടൻ

History

The Jacaranda (sp Jacaranda Mimosifolia) is of South American origin, mainly Brazil. It grows well in sub-tropical regions and may grow to a height of 20 metres.On 2nd July 1879, Grafton seed merchant Mr H. A. Volkers, was contracted to plant trees for the Grafton Council. During the 1880's he was instrumental in supplying and planting hundreds of Jacaranda trees in the streets of the town.Jacaranda trees have flowers in maroon and white as well as the popular blue-mauve. Life expectation may be up to 200 years and the timber is a creamy to rich yellow pinkish colour and can be used for ornamental wood work.

ഒരു ചക്ക മുറിച്ചാൽ...ഒരു നല്ല കറി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയാൽ അയൽപക്ക വീടുകളിൽ എത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലം....
ഒരു സോപ്പു കൊണ്ട് ഒരു കുടുംബമൊന്നാകെ തേച്ചു കുളിച്ച കാലം..
മരം കോച്ചുന്ന തണുപ്പിനെ നേരിടാൻ മുറ്റത്തും റോഡരികിലും വേർതിരിവില്ലാതെയിരുന്ന് ‌ തീ കായും കാലം..!!
വിരുന്നുകാരൻ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നാൽ ചോറ്
തികയാതെ കറി തികയാതെ, ഓടി അടുത്തുള്ള വീട്ടിലെ അടുക്കളയിൽ കിട്ടുന്നതെന്തും എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരുന്ന കാലം......
വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാത്രികളിൽ 7:45 നുള്ള ദൂരദർശനിലുള്ള ചിത്രഗീതം..ഞായറാഴ്ച രാവിലത്തെ ചിത്രഹാർ....കൂടാതെ മഹാഭാരതം, തിരയ്മലർ, ജയന്റ് റോബോട്ട്, മൗഗ്ലി, ടിപ്പു സുൽത്താൻ...ആഴ്ചയിൽ ഒരിക്കൽ മാത്രം വരുന്ന സിനിമകൾ കാണാൻ Tv ഉള്ള അടുത്തവീട്ടിൽ കുടുംബത്തോടെ പോയിരുന്ന കാലം.....!!
മതിലുകൾ കെട്ടി പരസ്പരബന്ധമില്ലാതെ.... ഉറ്റവരും ഉടയവരുമായി പോലും ബന്ധങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാതെ ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാലത്ത്,ഓർമകളിലെങ്കിലും
നല്ലത് മാത്രം കണ്ട് ജീവിച്ച ആ പഴയ നല്ല കാലം ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും തിരികെ വരുമോ..?
