ARTSREADY TRAINEES HELPING TO REVIVE ARTS THROUGH VR & AR

Ignition Immersive, a Melbourne based media studio, has taken on two proud Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men this year, Lewis and Lachie, to join their team of creatives.

The studio specialises in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies and is on a mission to help revive and revolutionise the arts and creative industry, after being so badly hit due to COVID-19.

Our two amazing trainees are a part of this exciting journey and are working alongside Darren, the Chief Dreamer of the studio, and his passionate team. He believes traineeships are the perfect way to upskill young people especially in an industry like digital media that is the way of the future.

In this podcast, Darren talks about his experience as a host employer, why he decided to take on two trainees in the midst of the pandemic, the exciting upcoming projects for Ignition Immersive and all things AR and VR.

On this day in 1861 Nellie Melba was born in Richmond, Victoria.
She went on to become one of the brightest operatic stars, a trailblazer and a powerful force in Australia’s history.
Dame Nellie Melba’s story is incredibly inspirational, yet despite being on our $100 note, many Australians know little about her.
These are immersive reconstruction images from our VR project in development that aims to answer the questions of who Nellie was, what she stood for, and how she achieved it as a woman living at the turn of the last century.
