If I’ve ever had an Achilles Heel, it’s been visual effects, but for our vid with I decided it was time to finally push the boat out and dive into a scary, scary world of keyframes, masks and stop-motion angst. I can’t say the process was a smooth one, but I can say that I’m over the moon (get it?) with the result.

I feel very often that VFX and transitions are treated as a gimmick by some video makers and a lot of the time do more to make the creator look cool than actually serve the client’s needs and highlight their brand. With Claire and her creations, I knew right from the moment we agreed to work together that they needed to live, and the viewer needed to be brought for a moment into a pastel land of imagination and creativity. Something, maybe even a little childlike, if you get what I mean.

I can honestly say that I’m incredibly proud of how the animations have turned out considering my relative noobiness, but I’ll let you be the judge when the video finally drops this weekend 😉
