🥃 Congratulations to 23rd Street Distillery and Head Distiller Paul Burnett on an extraordinary international achievement.
23rd Street’s Australian Single Malt Wh**ky has taken Double Gold and 96 points at the 2026 New York International Spirits Competition — the highest wh**ky score of the competition, from a field of more than 500 wh**ky entries across 39 countries.
We recently spoke with Paul about what went into creating this remarkable South Australian wh**ky — from Kangaroo Island barley and extraordinarily precise distillation, to his w**emaker’s approach to oak selection, maturation and blending.
The result is beautifully smooth, richly aromatic and layered with caramel, vanilla, apricot, citrus and wonderfully lingering oak.
